The college football season is approaching. With games in less than a month, it’s time to start looking ahead at the odds to win the National Championship. Remember, this is the second season for the college football playoff system. There are a bunch of teams that will be vying for those four spots. What teams can make it to the title game, and get over the top and win it all? Let’s take a look at some of the latest Vegas odds to win the National Championship for 2015?

The favorite to win the National Championship belongs to the defending champion Ohio State Buckeyes. Ohio State, led by Urban Meyer is listed at +300. The Big Ten favorite will have to contend with solid teams in Wisconsin, Michigan State and Michigan to get there, but with loads of talent on both sides of the ball, the Buckeyes are the heavy favorite. There are two teams tied for the second best odds to win the 2015 National Championship. Nick Saban and his Crimson Tide of Alabama and Gary Patterson and the Horned Frogs of Texas Christian University are listed at +700. The Crimson Tide, of course will have to contend with the rugged SEC, while TCU is the favorite out of the Big 12. Alabama should be solid on both sides of the football, but will hang their hat on the defensive side of the football. A season ago, the Horned Frogs were one of the top scoring teams. Patterson and his offensive attack certainly will be tough to stop throughout the season. Three other teams that are listed highly are the Auburn Tigers at +1400, Oregon Ducks +1400 and USC Trojans +1500. Auburn is the second team listed from the SEC, while the Oregon Ducks and USC Trojans are from the Pac-12.  Finally, the Baylor Bears, who were once of the top scoring teams a season ago is listed also at +1500.

Other teams that are listed as more of an underdog to win the 2015 National Championship are as follows: Clemson Tigers +1800, Florida State Seminoles +1800, Michigan State Spartans +1800, LSU Tigers +2000, Notre Dame Fighting Irish +2200 and UCLA Bruins +2400. The Clemson Tigers and Florida State Seminoles are the top Atlantic Coast Conference teams. The Tigers and Seminoles, if they can run the table in the conference could be a decent darkhorse to get into the final four. Florida State is one season removed from winning the national championship. Michigan State at +1800 is the second Big Ten team listed. As we mentioned earlier, the Spartans will contend with heavy favorites Ohio State, but will also see Michigan during the regular season. That rivalry game is never easy on either side. The Spartans take on Oregon the second week of the season. LSU is the third team listed out of the SEC. Les Miles and his team will need to find a spark offensively to get out of the conference with 1 or 2 losses. Notre Dame, of course is an independent. Their schedule is not as tough as year’s past, and Brian Kelly has shown the ability to recruit some studs to South Bend, so a good darkhorse possibility. Finally, UCLA is the third Pac-12 team listed. They of course are behind both Oregon and USC.

The season kicks off on September 3rd, so be sure to get into the action with NCAA Football Futures wagering, and bet on the National Championship for 2015. There should be some great action all over the country during the upcoming college football season.

Below you will find an article discussing the biggest week one NCAA football games and the lines
A Full list of all odds (spreads & totals) for all of the week 1 college football match-ups below.

The opening weekend of NCAA Football is quickly approaching. The oddsmakers have set the lines for all the week one games. Let’s take a look at some of the biggest games for this week along with all the current lines for them.

The first game of the season features the old ball coach Steve Spurrier & his South Carolina Gamecocks.  SC is currently listed as a mere field goal favorite over the rivaled Tar Heels of North Carolina. This opener between two talented teams should prove to be an excellent opening matchup to kick off the season. Another game on Thursday September 3rd is the Michigan Wolverines and Utah Utes. The Utes are projected to be solid in 2015, while Michigan is looking at a bit of a rebuilding now with Coach Harbaugh taking over. The Utah Utes are -5.5 over the Michigan Wolverines. The TCU Horned Frogs are a two touchdown favorite over the Big Ten’s Minnesota Golden Gophers. TCU is the favorite to win the Big 12 this season, and get into the national championship picture.

On Friday, The Baylor Bears will go on the road, and take on one of the worst teams in the country a season ago. Baylor looks to be one of the best offensive teams in all of college football once again. Baylor is -34 over Southern Methodist University. The Michigan State Spartans are another team that goes on the road in week 1. The Spartans are making sure they do not look ahead to their marquee week 2 tilt against Oregon. Michigan State is -19 at Western Michigan in Week 1. The Fighting Illini of Illinois are another Big Ten team opening up on Friday night. They will also team on a MAC squad. Illinois opened at -15.5 for this game. The final game slated on Friday night is the Boise State Broncos and the Washington Huskies. This game will be played on the blue turf. The Broncos are looking to get back as an elite contender in college football. Boise State is -10.5 over Washington.

The first Saturday of the season sees several elite top 25 matchups. The UCLA Bruins are a 17 point favorite over the Virginia Cavaliers, Stanford goes to Northwestern and are a 12 point favorite in two games featuring Pac-12 teams. The Auburn Tigers host the Louisville Cardinals are come in as 10.5 favorites. Nebraska -6.5 over BYU, Notre Dame -9.5 over Texas, Alabama -10.5 over Wisconsin, USC -28.5 over Arkansas State and in the nightcap for Saturday September 5th, the Ohio State Buckeyes, who are the defending national champions are a 10.5 point favorite over the Virginia Tech Hokies.

Week 14 of the 2013 college football season was by far one of the most memorable weekends in recent memory. The Iron Bowl between Auburn and Alabama did not disappoint, and in fact exceeded expectations as it ended with one of the most memorable endings in college football history. Chris Davis from Auburn ran back an Alabama field goal attempt for a touchdown with only 1 second left on the clock. As a result, Alabama dropped to #4 in the BCS rankings, while Auburn moved up to #3. (Continued Below)

Current BCS Rankings Top 5 as of 12/3/13
Florida St. Seminoles              .9948
Ohio St. Buckeyes                    .9503
Auburn Tigers                          .9233
Alabama Crimson Tide            .8539
Missouri Tigers                        .8428

Florida State was the main beneficiary of Alabama’s loss, as they moved up to #1. The Seminoles took care of business defeating rival Florida 37-7. Ohio State also benefited greatly, as they moved up to #2. The Buckeyes were lucky to win, as Michigan decided to go for two on the final play of the game. The attempt failed, resulting in a 42-41 win over rival Michigan. (Continued Below)

Current BCS Rankings & BCS Standings (as of 12/3/2013)
BCS Rankings Week 15

As of now, Ohio State leads Auburn by the slimmest of margins. Some are suggesting that Ohio State needs to win impressive in the Big Ten championship. Should they struggle, Missouri or Auburn, who play in the SEC championship, could leap over Ohio State. You also have Alabama still at #4, and they have a slim possibility of getting into the championship game, but needs a lot to happen. The Crimson Tide will need both Florida State, Ohio State, and Auburn to lose. Florida State is more than a four touchdown favorite over Duke and the Seminoles should dominate, as they have all year.

One thing is for sure, the BCS will be set in stone after this weekend. Who plays in each contest still remains to be seen, as nothing is guaranteed, especially after seeing the events unfold last weekend.

Yes, thirteen weeks of college football have now gone by in the 2013 season.  Week 14 of the NCAA  football season is underway and one more undefeated BCS contender went down last week. Week 14 offers plenty of key conference match-ups in the PAC-12, Big Ten, and SEC conferences. The marquee matchup of Thanksgiving weekend is clearly the Iron Bowl between undefeated #1 Alabama who will take on the one-loss, fourth-ranked Auburn Tigers who are coming of a few big SEC wins.  Be sure to check out the 2013 Iron Bowl odds below and make sure to look at the 2013 Thanksgiving day NFL odds on our blog.

Thursday Thanksgiving Day NCAA Football Lines For 11/28/13

Texas Tech at Texas (-4) 7:30pm EST – FOX Sports 1

Two intrastate rivals meet in Austin as the Texas Longhorns take host the Texas Tech Red Raiders in a Big 12 conference tilt on Thanksgiving night. Texas Tech comes into this matchup on a four game losing streak, last losing to Baylor 63-34. Texas has turned their season around after starting 1-2, yet lost their last contest to Oklahoma State 38-13.

Friday Week 14 College Football Lines For 11/29/13

#13 Oregon (NL) at Oregon State 7:00pm EST – FOX Sports 1

Autzen Stadium will certainly be rockin as Oregon and Oregon State battle in the ‘Civil War’ in Eugene. Oregon saw its BCS hopes go by the wayside last week as they fell down in defeat last week at Arizona. The outcome was much worse for Oregon St, as they got pummeled at home by Washington 69-27.

Saturday Week 13 College Football Odds For 11/29/13

#2 Florida State (NL) at Florida 12:00pm EST – ESPN

Florida State will try to continue their run to the BCS championship as they travel to the swamp to take on the Florida Gators. It was business as usual for the Seminoles last week as they crushed Idaho 80-14. It’s been a long season in Gainesville, Florida’s disappointing season continued last week as they were upset by Georgia Southern 26-20.

#3 Ohio State (-12) at Michigan 12:00pm EST – ABC

The Ohio State Buckeyes will try to keep their BCS hopes alive as they travel to the big house for the 109th chapter of ‘The Game’. Undefeated Ohio State was victorious once again beating Indiana 42-14. Michigan has lost three out of their last four, losing at Iowa last week 24-21.

#1 Alabama (-10) at #4 Auburn 3:30pm EST – CBS

This year’s edition of the ‘Iron Bowl’ will have some serious BCS implications as the #1 Alabama Crimson Tide takes on the #4 Auburn Tigers. Auburn is coming off a miraculous victory over Georgia 43-38. Alabama took care of business in a “scrimmage” last week, shutting out Chattanooga 49-0. Should Auburn pull the upset, they will most likely leap over Ohio State in the BCS standings. We are about to find out in a few days if it’s “War Eagle” or “War Hubris”. The 2013 Iron Bowl Odds have Auburn listed as 10 point dogs at home to the powerhouse Crimson Tide. Do you think Auburn has a legitimate outside shot at beating #1 Alabama and winning the BCS title? Be sure to check out their current odds to win the BCS National Championship as well as some of the other undefeated and one-loss squads

#6 Clemson at #10 South Carolina (-5) 7:00pm EST – ESPN2

It will be an intrastate battle of top 10 teams as #6 Clemson will face #10 South Carolina. Clemson was impressive in their last outing, downing Citadel 52-6. South Carolina beat an outmatched Coastal Carolina team 70-10. South Carolina won last year’s contest 27-17.

#25 Notre Dame at #8 Stanford (-14) 7:00pm EST – FOX

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will travel to Palo Alto to take on Stanford in a battle for the Legends Trophy. Stanford got back on track last week after their BCS championship hopes were dashed losing to USC, beating California 63-13. Notre Dame jumped back into the top 25 after beating BYU 23-13. Notre Dame won last years contest 20-13 in overtime.

#21 Texas A&M (-16) at #5 Missouri 7:00pm EST – ESPN

Missouri will try to clinch their first berth in the SEC championship as they host the Texas A&M Aggies. Missouri took care of business last week, getting a road victory at Ole Miss 24-10. The Aggies were dominated last week, losing to LSU for the second consecutive year 34-10.

#22 UCLA at #23 USC (-4) 8:00pm EST – ABC

Cross-town rivals UCLA and USC will meet on Saturday night at the Coliseum in Los Angeles. UCLA lost the PAC-12 South division title last week to Arizona State 38-33. USC will be looking to win their sixth straight game and will also be looking to avenge a 38-28 defeat at the hands of the Bruins last year. This is the first time since 2010 that this rivalry game will not have major bowl implications.

Arizona at #12 Arizona State (-11.5) 9:30pm EST – PAC-12 Network

Arizona State will look to notch their seventh straight win as they host intrastate rival Arizona. Both teams are coming off upset victories. Arizona State locked up a PAC-12 title berth at UCLA last week defeating the Bruins 38-33. Arizona pulled off the monumental upset, defeating then #5 ranked Oregon 42-16. The Sun Devils won last years meeting 41-34.

Twelve weeks of the college football season is complete. With week 13 here, the shaking up of the BCS picture last week, the season gets more interesting. Week 13 offers plenty of key conference matchups in the PAC-12, Big Ten, and SEC. The marquee matchup will be in the Big 12 Saturday night, as Baylor tries to keep their BCS hopes alive against Oklahoma State.

(Full List of Thursday Lines Below)

#15 Northern Illinois (-1.5) at Toledo 8:00 PM EST

Week 13 in the college football season kicks off Wednesday night as the undefeated Northern Illinois Huskies take on the Toledo Rockets in a key Mid-American conference tilt. Northern Illinois is coming off one of their biggest wins of the season, defeating the Ball State Cardinals 48–27. Toledo is also coming off a big victory defeating Buffalo two weeks ago, 51-41. The Huskies defeated the Rockets last year 31–24.

Saturday, November 23, 2013
(Full List of Friday Lines Below)

Cincinnati at Houston (-3) 12:00 PM EST

The Houston Cougars will try to snap their two game losing streak as they host the Cincinnati Bearcats in a American Athletic Conference tilt. After starting the season 7–1, Houston has dropped two straight to Central Florida and Louisville. Cincinnati is coming off a huge road win at Rutgers where they exploded for 52 points in a 52–17 win.

#20 Oklahoma at Kansas State (-3.5) 12:00 PM EST

The Oklahoma Sooners will try to keep pace in the Big 12 conference as they travel to Manhattan to take on the red hot Kansas State Wildcats. Kansas State has won four in a row including a huge road win at Texas Tech. Oklahoma got back on track last week with a 38–7 win against Iowa State, which saw head coach Bob Stoops tie Barry Switzer for the most wins in school history.

#5 Oregon (-18.5) at Arizona 3:30 PM EST

The Oregon Ducks will try to keep their BCS and PAC–12 championship hopes alive as they take on 6–4 Arizona.  The Ducks rebounded from their loss at Stanford with a 44–21 when against Utah last week. The Arizona Wildcats are in the midst of a two game skid losing to UCLA and Washington State at home. Arizona was blown out by the Ducks at Autzen Stadium last year 49–0.

Idaho at #2 Florida State (-56) 3:30 PM EST

Oddsmakers just can’t seem to set the line high enough as the Florida State Seminoles continue to dominate week in and week out. This week they will be facing a 1–9 Idaho squad. The story of Jameis Winston’s alleged involvement in a sexual assault didn’t seem to faze this team at all as they rolled 59–3 over Syracuse last week. The Idaho Vandals are 0–5 on the road this year losing by an average of 35.8 points.

#12 Wisconsin (-16) at #25 Minnesota 3:30 PM EST

It’s the battle for ‘Paul Bunyan’s Axe’ as the Minnesota Golden Gophers host the Wisconsin Badgers. Wisconsin is coming off a 51-3 beat down of Indiana. Minnesota had a bye week in week 12, but before that came up victorious over Penn State 24-10. Wisconsin has won the last nine games in this series, including a 38-13 in Madison last year.

#12 Texas A&M at #22 LSU (-4) 3:30 PM EST

The Texas A&M Aggies led by Heisman candidate Johnny Manziel, head to Death Valley to take on the LSU Tigers. The Tigers will have had two weeks to stew over the loss to rival Alabama. Texas A&M will also have had two weeks to prepare, although they are coming in on a three game win streak, most recently beating Mississippi State 51-41. LSU won last year’s matchup 24-19.

#17 Arizona State (-2.5) at #14 UCLA 7:00 PM EST

The Arizona State Sun Devils will look to stay atop the PAC-12 South as they travel to Pasadena to take on the UCLA Bruins. The Bruins are coming off a 41-31 victory against Washington and have won three straight. The Sun Devils have been cruising as of late, winning five straight since being upended by Notre Dame back in early October. UCLA won last year’s contest between these schools on a last second field goal 45-43.

#4 Baylor (-10) at #10 Oklahoma State 8:00 PM EST

In what will be the most anticipated game of the week, the high powered offense of Baylor travels to Stillwater to take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys. This will undoubtedly be the toughest test for the Bears, who take on a Cowboy squad that has been on a roll, winning six straight. Baylor struggled early against Texas Tech last week, but opened it up in the second half cruising to a 63-34 victory. Baylor defeated Oklahoma State last year in Waco 41-24.
