2014 NCAA Week 9 Line Breakdown

Week 9 of the 2014 college football season is upon us. Here are some of the marquee matchups and the lines for the upcoming weekend of action, courtesy of JustBet Sportsbook. Thursday, October 23

Connecticut at #18 East Carolina (-28, 54.5) 7:00 PM ESPNU

The #18 ranked East Carolina Pirates takeon the Connecticut Huskies from Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium in Greenville, North Carolina. The Huskies might have a pretty hard time keeping up with the Pirates offensively, as the Pirates are averaging 41 points per game, while UConn is averaging just 12.8 points per contest.

Friday, October 24

#6 Oregon (-17.5, 79.5) at California 10:00 PM FOX Sports 1

The #6 Oregon Ducks have seemed to put the loss to Arizona behind them, and will look to make it 3 straight wins when they take on the California Golden Bears from Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The Bears are coming off a 36-34 home loss to UCLA.

Saturday, October 25

#22 West Virginia at Oklahoma State (-1, 65.5)  3:30 PM ESPN

The #22 ranked West Viginia Mountaineers will look to build on their home win over Baylor when they take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys. The Cowboys are licking their wounds, coming off a 41-9 blowout loss at the hands of #10 ranked TCU.

Texas at #11 Kansas State (-10, 49) 12:00 PM ESPN

The Texas Longhorns look to be improving each week, and they’ll take on the #11 ranked Kansas State Wildcats. The Wildcats are coming off a big 31-30 road win against Oklahoma in Norman. Texas got back in the win column last week downing Iowa State.

#1 Mississippi State (-13.5, 59.5) at Kentucky CBS 3:30 PM CBS

The Mississippi State Bulldogs take on the Kentucky Wildcats in an SEC contest from Kentucky. Mississippi State is coming off a bye week, while Kentucky was dominated from the opening kick losing to LSU last Satuday 41-3.

Texas Tech at #10 TCU (-23, 71.5) 3:30 PM FOX

The #10 ranked TCU Horned Frogs put the heartbreaking loss to Baylor behind them in impressive fashion. The Frogs dominated Oklahoma State last Saturday in a 41-9 route. They’ll take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders who are currently 3-4, and 1-2 in Big 12 play.

Michigan at Michigan St. (-17, 49.5) 3:30 PM ABC

The Michigan Wolverines head to East Lansing to take on their intrastate rival Michigan State in a Big Ten conference tilt. The Spartans didn’t have much trouble with the Wolverines last season, dominating them in East Lansing 29-6.

#3 Ole Miss (-3.5, 44.5) at #24 LSU 7:15 PM ESPN

The #3 ranked Ole Miss Rebels dominated Tennessee last Saturday, winning last Saturday 34-3 in Knoxville. they’ll face a stiff test playing LSU in Death Valley, one of the toughest places to play at night. LSU looks to be improving, and were dominant against Kentucky, 41-3.

#4 Alabama (NL) at Tennessee 7:30 PM ESPN 2

It will be quite the intersting matchup on Saturday in Knoxville, as the Tennessee Volunteers host the #4 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide. Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin will face his old team for the first time since exiting in 2009. Alabama was last seen thumping Texas A&M 59-0, while Tennessee lost to Ole Miss 34-3 at home.

#13 Ohio State (-14, 51) at Penn State 8:00 PM ABC

The surging Ohio State Buckeyes are two weeks away from their showdown with Michigan State. They’ll have to take it one game at a time and stay focused when they travel to Happy Valley to take on the Penn State Nittany Lions. Ohio State are coming off an impressive 56-17 drubbing of Rutgers, a team Penn State beat 13-10 earlier this season.

#20 USC (-1, 56) at #19 Utah 10:00 PM FOX Sports 1

The USC Trojans have beaten the Utah Utes 3 times in a row. They’ll look to make it 4 when they head to Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt lake City to take on the #19 ranked Utes. USC will be up against it with a hostile Utah home crowd and one of the nation’s best pass rushes.

#14 Arizona State (-3.5, 62) at Washington 10:45 PM ESPN

The #14 ranked Arizona State Sun Devils have had quite a ride as of late. The Sun Devils have consecutive wins over USC and Stanford, and will look to avoid a letdown when they travel to Seattle to take on the Washington Huskies, who are 1-2 in conference play.
