Saturday marks the first day of 2011 NFL playoff betting action, as four teams begin their quest to win the Lombardi Trophy. Check out some of the best props on the board for today’s NFL betting action!

Reggie Bush Rushing + Receiving Yards Over/Under 77.5
We’re taking a bit of a gamble here on Bush, as we know that he could be in a position where he just doesn’t touch the ball all that much. However, we do have a few things on our side in this one. First off, we tend to believe that the Saints are going to be winning this game the whole way, which really should prompt a tremendous amount of carries for someone in this backfield. The second thing on our side is that we know that there aren’t really any healthy rushing options for Head Coach Sean Peyton to turn to, as all of his top backs are on the shelf in this one. Will it be RB Julius Jones, or Bush getting the rock more often than not? We tend to believe that the answer is Bush, and if that’s the case, he should easily get to this number. Especially when you consider the fact that you know the former USC Trojan is good for at least three or four catches on the day as well, we have to go with Bush Over 77.5 Rushing + Receiving Yards (-115 at Hollywood Sportsbook) in Wild Card Weekend.

New Orleans Saints Margin of Victory
This is the type of prop that we only like to play in certain situations. However, knowing that the Saints are already laying 11 points in this game, it seems like a good conclusion that they are going to be winning this one by at least double that more than one out of seven times. The Seahawks have already been railroaded by lesser teams by this many points at home this year, and there is a decent chance that the wheels could just fall off of the train at some point for the hosts. No, we’re not saying that New Orleans is a lock to win this game, or that we necessarily think that they are beating the NFL odds in this one more often than not, but we do think that we are getting a fantastic price here on them to win this game by at least 22 points. Mark Sanchez Longest Completion Over/Under 31.5 Yards
This is perhaps the strongest prop on the board, as it is the weakest number that the oddsmakers have put up there. Sanchez has a number of weapons at his disposal that can stretch the field, namely WR Santonio Holmes and WR Braylon Edwards. He takes his fair share of shots down the field over the course of the game, and here, we are just asking him to pull the trigger for one shot of at least 32 yards. That’s something that Sanchez has already done ten times this year in just 15 starts. Yes, we know that we are factoring into the equation getting hurt and all of that, but without any unforeseen circumstances, especially in a game in which we know that Head Coach Rex Ryan is pulling out all of the stops, there is no reason to think that Sanchez’s longest completion won’t be Over 31.5 Yards (-115 at Hollywood Sportsbook) against the Colts.

Peyton Manning First Pass Complete Or Incomplete
C’mon Hollywood… Give us a break. Manning completed right around 2/3 of his passes this year, completing 66.2 percent of all attempts, and that doesn’t even include all of the times that he spiked the football. Sure, the Jets have a fantastic defense, but this is a gimme. We know that this is cashing at least two out of three times, and if that’s the case, we’re going to make quite a good bit of money on this NFL prop bet. Manning’s first pass will be Complete (-190 at Hollywood Sportsbook).

Adam Vinetiari Over/Under 7.5 Points
You don’t see us try our hand at the various kicker props all that often, but this is a great situation to be in right now. We really probably only need Vinetiari to kick two field goals in this game for him to get past the 7.5 point mark, and we tend to think, especially in the playoffs, that this is going to happen at least 60 percent of the time. Sure, we know that Vinetiari only reached this point eight times on the season, and we know that he doesn’t have a leg that can boot the ball 50+ yards anymore, but we also know that this is playoff time, and there isn’t a kicker that has nailed more clutch kicks in his career than this man has. Especially kicking in absolutely perfect conditions in the dome, there’s no reason to believe that Vinetiari can’t go Over 7.5 Points (-115 at Hollywood Sportsbook) at least six out of ten times.

The postseason is finally about to be underway this coming weekend, and the road to beating the Super Bowl XLV odds is now on! Things are going to start on Sunday with a duel between the New Orleans Saints and the Seattle Seahawks. Seattle might have won the NFC West this year by taking down the St. Louis Rams 16-6 in the Sunday Night Football finale, but there is absolutely no one giving it a chance of beating the defending champs. You’ll have to search long and hard to find a double digit road favorite in the NFL playoffs, but that’s exactly what has happened in this one, as the Saints are getting the honors by 10.5 points on the opening NFL playoff odds.

Later that day, the New York Jets and Indianapolis Colts will renew ties from the postseason last year, as these two competed in the AFC Championship Game last year. The Jets have a fantastic defense, but they also have some problems right now as well on both sides of the ball. QB Mark Sanchez has a sore shoulder and was held out of action in Week 17 against the Buffalo Bills, but Head Coach Rex Ryan elected to keep a number of his starters on the bench in that meaningless game. The ‘D’ allowed 38 points to the Chicago Bears just two weeks ago, and the team averaged 27.5 PPG allowed over the last month of the season.

Indy knows that this wasn’t the greatest season in the world, but just getting into the playoffs was good enough for QB Peyton Manning. Manning set the record for the most completions in a season this year with 450. He is about as full strength on offense as he is going to be right now, as RB Joseph Addai, RB Dominic Rhodes, WR Reggie Wayne, and WR Pierre Garcon are all going to be in the fold in this one, and they should be ready to pounce at home as three point favorites.

On the other side of the AFC draw, the Baltimore Ravens are going to take on the Kansas City Chiefs. We give KC all the credit in the world for winning the AFC West in the face of the charging San Diego Chargers. QB Matt Cassel was probably shafted from the Pro Bowl this year, though he really didn’t play well in the final week of the season, throwing three picks. The Chiefs also have one of the best rushing attacks in the game, as both RB Jamaal Charles and RB Thomas Jones have the ability to have 100+ yard games against anyone in the league.

Baltimore has one of the best defenses in the league and an offense that is incredibly talented. The Ravens brought in WR Anquan Boldin this year to win games like this one so QB Joe Flacco has a huge target to aim for. This might be one of the last stands for LB Ray Lewis and SS Ed Reed, though. The visitors are favored by three points.

The final NFL playoff betting battle takes us all the way back to Week 1, when the Green Bay Packers knocked off the Philadelphia Eagles. Now, the Eagles can get their revenge.

That week was a tail of two games, as QB Michael Vick did a great job after he came into the lineup and replaced QB Kevin Kolb. Assuming that Vick is healthy, he is going to be going from start to finish in this one, as he looks to do something that QB Donovan McNabb never did: Win a Super Bowl. It all starts with the first step though, and this is going to be a tough test against arguably the best defense in the NFC. Green Bay’s LB Clay Matthews is going to have a beat on Vick for this entire game, which should make this one a great battle. The Eagles are three point home favorites on the opening NFL betting lines in Wild Card weekend.

New York Giants (9-6) – The Giants put themselves in a world of hurt right now in the push in the NFC. A win is a must next week against the Washington Redskins, and anything less won’t get the job done. Then from there, the G-Men need either a loss by the Packers against the Chicago Bears, or they need the New Orleans Saints to lose both this week against the Atlanta Falcons and next week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Washington Redskins (6-9) – The Redskins upset the Jacksonville Jaguars last week, but they know that they can deliver an even bigger blow to the New York Giants next week with an upset at home. Dallas Cowboys (5-10) – Gaffes both offensively and on special teams really cost the Cowboys a ‘W’ at the lowly Arizona Cardinals. We’re probably going to get our first look at QB Stephen McGee as a starter next week unless QB Tony Romo decides to suit up, as QB Jon Kitna is out of the lineup. Remaining Schedule: vs. PHI

NFC North

Chicago Bears (11-4) – It’s not often that you see the Bears rooting for the Minnesota Vikings, but with their hated rivals’ victory on a rare Tuesday Night Football duel, they clinched a first round bye in the playoffs. Chicago really doesn’t have anywhere to go from here unless a bunch of things happen. It needs a win and losses by both the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints to become the No. 1 seed in the playoffs. Remaining Schedule: @ GB

Green Bay Packers (9-6) – It’s win and in for the Packers this week, as they know that a ‘W’ against the Chicago Bears puts them in the playoffs once and for all. They can also get in with a loss, but only if both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New York Giants lose in Week 17 as well. There’s nowhere to go but to be the No. 6 seed in the playoffs, meaning a win parlayed with a victory by the Philadelphia Eagles sets up a rematch in the Windy City between these same two teams next week in the first round of the playoffs. Minnesota Vikings (6-9) – Give the Vikes some big time credit for taking down the Philadelphia Eagles on the road on Tuesday with third string QB Joe Webb doing the bulk of the damage offensively. The ‘W’ might have saved the job for Head Coach Leslie Frazier, who really wants to have the interim tag removed from his title for next year. Remaining Schedule: @ DET

Detroit Lions (5-10) – Give it up for the Lions, who have now won back to back road games for the first time in eons. Their fans should come out in droves this week to support them for the finale against the Minnesota Vikings, which could be the game that ensures that they do not finish in last place in the NFC North. NFC South

Atlanta Falcons (12-3) – Atlanta didn’t do itself any favorites on Monday Night Football by losing to the New Orleans Saints, as now, it needs to win this final game of the season against the Carolina Panthers to ensure the No. 1 seed in the playoffs in the NFC. A loss makes things more interesting. If that happens and the Saints win on Sunday, the Falcons are suddenly going on the road as a Wild Card. If the Saints also lose and the Bears win, they’ll be the No. 2 seed, and if all three teams lose, they’ll hang on as the top seed in the conference. Remaining Schedule: vs. CAR

New Orleans Saints (11-4) – The Saints took a situation that could have been very, very sticky and turned it into one with nothing to lose on Sunday. They beat the Atlanta Falcons and kept their hopes alive for an NFC South title, and if it were acquired, they would be the No. 1 overall seed in the NFC. It’ll take a win by over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and an Atlanta loss to the lowly Carolina Panthers to happen though, and anything less leaves it on the road as the No. 5 seed, where it will take on the NFC West champs in the Wild Card round of the playoffs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (9-6) – The Bucs pretty much know that they are coming out of the No. 6 seed in the playoffs if they get in, as their only chance of being the No. 5 seed would be a win in Week 17 over the New Orleans Saints and losses in Week 17 by both the Green Bay Packers and New York Giants. With the unlikeliness of that happening, Tampa Bay is sitting at home tonight and cheering for the Atlanta Falcons. That would put the Bucs in a position where a win would put them within a win and loss by either the Packers or Giants from getting into the playoffs. St. Louis Rams (7-8) – Once St. Louis won its duel against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, it knew that the showdown next week against the Seattle Seahawks was for all the marbles in the division. A win leaves the Rams as the No. 4 seed in the playoffs and hosting a game in the first round. A loss eliminates them from the postseason. Remaining Schedule: @ SEA

Seattle Seahawks (6-9) – Seahawks fans have to be wondering what in the heck Head Coach Pete Carroll was doing when he played QB Matt Hasselbeck last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The game was 100% meaningless to the Seahawks once the St. Louis Rams beat the San Francisco 49ers, as we knew that the game up at Qwest Field on Sunday Night Football was going to be the one that determined the winner of the NFC West regardless. Just like the Rams, a win earns the No. 4 seed, while a loss knocks Seattle out of the playoffs. Remaining Schedule: vs. STL

San Francisco 49ers (5-10) – It should really come as no surprise to anyone that the Niners canned Head Coach Mike Singletary just hours after they were eliminated from the playoffs mathematically. Remaining Schedule: vs. ARI

Arizona Cardinals (5-10) – Can you imagine just how bad the NFC West is if the Cardinals end up finishing second in the division? That could be a reality with a win on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. Remaining Schedule: @ SF

AFC East

New England Patriots (13-2) – The road to the Super Bowl goes through Foxboro officially, as the Pats locked up the No. 1 overall seed in the playoffs with a win on Sunday at the Buffalo Bills. If we see QB Tom Brady and the regulars on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, it will only be as a cameo appearance for the hometown crowd to applaud their heroes, as this one is totally meaningless. Remaining Schedule: vs. MIA

New York Jets (10-5) – The Jets essentially hit the backdoor in the playoffs, earning a spot in the second season in spite of the fact that they lost on Sunday to the Chicago Bears. They know that they’ll be the No. 6 seed if the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers both win in Week 17 regardless of what happens at home against the Buffalo Bills, but if the Pittsburgh Steelers lose and the Jets win, they’ll move up to the No. 5 seed. To show how little Head Coach Rex Ryan cares about that, he’s already announced that he is sitting QB Mark Sanchez on Sunday. Remaining Schedule: vs. BUF

Miami Dolphins (7-8) – Is it just us, or are the Dolphins praying that QB Jake Locker falls to them this year in the NFL Draft? The offense has been disgraceful all season long, and two picks by QB Chad Henne in a span of just a few minutes took a ten point lead and turned it into a seven point defeat against the lowly Detroit Lions. Buffalo Bills (4-11) – The Bills never really stood a chance on Sunday in the home finale against the New England Patriots, and they can’t even really spoil anything against the New York Jets this weekend either. Remaining Schedule: @ NYJ

AFC North

Pittsburgh Steelers (11-4) – Step 1 for Pittsburgh is complete, but there is still one more matter to take care of. The Steelers need to beat the Cleveland Browns on Sunday to win the AFC South. A loss by the Baltimore Ravens would also get the job done, though there is clearly no desire to backdoor into a first round bye like that. A loss and wins by the Ravens and the New York Jets would leave Pittsburgh as the No. 6 seed. A loss and a loss by the Jets leaves it at No. 5.Remaining Schedule: @ CLE

Baltimore Ravens (11-4) – Baltimore is going everything that it can to become the No. 2 seed in the AFC, as it needs to just keep on winning and hope that the Pittsburgh Steelers trip in Week 17. A win and a loss by the New York Jets guarantees no worse than the No. 5 seed in the playoffs, while a win and a Pittsburgh loss wins the division. The Ravens are already in the dance for certain, though. Remaining Schedule: vs. CIN

Cleveland Browns (5-10) – The Browns never stood a shot against the Baltimore Ravens, and now they are stuck taking on the Pittsburgh Steelers. Remaining Schedule: vs. PIT

Cincinnati Bengals (4-11) – The Bengals upset the San Diego Chargers to end their season on Sunday, and they can ensure that the Baltimore Ravens are going on the road with an upset at M&T Bank Stadium in Week 17. Remaining Schedule: @ BAL

Indianapolis Colts (9-6) – It’s win and in at this point for the Colts, but they have a lifeline now as well after extending their lead in the AFC South to one with one to play. A win and a loss by the Kansas City Chiefs wins the No. 3 seed, while a win or a loss by the Jacksonville Jaguars and a win by the Chiefs leaves Indy at No. 4. Remaining Schedule: vs. TEN

Jacksonville Jaguars (8-7) – The Jags know that they need to win on Sunday, something that they probably had to do one way or the other to win the AFC South. Sunday’s loss against the Washington Redskins really didn’t hurt them any. The only road to the second season is a win parlayed with a loss by the Indianapolis Colts, and if that were to happen, Jacksonville would be the No. 4 seed in the playoffs. Tennessee Titans (6-9) – The Titans were officially knocked out of the playoffs in Week 16 with a bad loss at the Kansas City Chiefs. Now, all they can do is play the role of spoiler against the Indianapolis Colts, who are likely to win the AFC South again this year. Remaining Schedule: @ IND

Houston Texans (5-10) – The newest way the Texans blew a game came this week when they were beaten by a rookie quarterback for his first career win after holding a 17 point lead at halftime and a 13 point edge going into the fourth quarter. AFC West

Kansas City Chiefs (10-5) – Kansas City could really care less whether it ends up being the No. 3 or the No. 4 seed, but a win on Sunday against the Oakland Raiders would clinch the No. 3 seed. A loss and a win by the Indianapolis Colts would knock the Chiefs down to No. 4. Regardless though, KC can call itself the champion of the AFC West, something that was looked at as an impossibility at the outset of the season. Remaining Schedule: vs. OAK

San Diego Chargers (8-7) – In typical Chargers fashion, they were defeated by the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday to knock them out of the playoffs once and for all. It probably wouldn’t have mattered, as KC was probably unlikely to lose a game down the stretch, but this really eliminated any chance and might have put Head Coach Norv Turner on a very, very hot seat as we go into next year. Oakland Raiders (7-8) – Oakland knew that its season was over before getting started in Week 16, as it was bounced from the second season when the Kansas City Chiefs won earlier that day. Still, the chance to finish .500 by beating the division champs on the road in the regular season finale is too good of a chance to pass up for a team that is clearly on the rise. Remaining Schedule: @ KC

Denver Broncos (4-11) – Denver really messed up its chances of having the No. 2 pick in the NFL Draft by beating the Houston Texans on Sunday, but QB Tim Tebow was all smiles after posting a huge comeback from down 17 at the half and 13 through three quarters to notch his first ever win. Remaining Schedule: vs. SD

The 2011 Pro Bowl is just a few weeks away, and the rosters were announced on Tuesday night. What we have to remember about the Pro Bowl this year is that players that are playing in the Super Bowl are not going to be in the game this year, as the Pro Bowl is played the week before the biggest game of the year, not a few weeks later.

That being said, it wouldn’t be overly surprising if either AFC QB Tom Brady or NFC QB Michael Vick are kept out of this game due to the fact that they are playing for the Lombardi Trophy the next week.

Even though we know right now that the rosters aren’t going to look like this when push comes to shove, we can still analyze the rosters as they sit at the moment.

Quarterbacks: The AFC has a fantastic trio of pure drop back passers. Brady simply plays with precision with every single pass, while his backups, Tom Brady and Peyton Manning were both fantastic all season long. In Manning and Rivers, the AFC has two of the top passers in terms of yardage in the league, while Brady has a great touch and should only be made better by a great crop of receivers, something that he doesn’t have in New England. The NFC is probably more dynamic. Atlanta’s Matt Ryan refuses to lose, while Drew Brees is seemingly always here in the Pro Bowl. Michael Vick as the start is an interesting choice, especially since he wasn’t even good enough to start in Philly at the outset of the season. There’s more than Vick can do with his legs, but the better passers are clearly in the AFC. Advantage: AFC

Running Backs: This is about as even of a match as you can get assuming that these are the backs that end up in the game. The AFC South duo of Maurice Jones-Drew and Arian Foster can run all day long, while Jamaal Charles has an explosive first step and is used to splitting carries. Michael Turner has been a workhorse all season long, which might cause him to be left out of the lineup for the Pro Bowl. Adrian Peterson is probably the most talented back in the league, while Steven Jackson is one of the most underappreciated backs that the league has to offer. Just one question for the AFC, though. Where’s Chris Johnson? Advantage: NFC

Wide Receivers/Tight Ends: If the AFC is winning this game, this is where it is doing it. This conference has three of the top men for receiving yards in the league in Andre Johnson, Brandon Lloyd, and Reggie Wayne, and you won’t find a better target near the end zone than Dwayne Bowe, who has three more TD catches than anyone else in the league. Antonio Gates probably isn’t playing, which leaves just Marcedes Lewis and potentially a man like Dustin Keller. The NFC has the better tight ends and a fantastic option sitting on the sidelines, as Vernon Davis would easily be a starter in the red conference. Jason Witten and the experienced Tony Gonzalez are fantastic. Roddy White is probably the best possession receiver in the NFL, and there is a nice mix as well with some speed, as both Greg Jennings and DeSean Jackson have some major speed. Advantage: AFC

These two teams are playing in a de facto play in game for the postseason, as the winner will claim the NFC West title, while the loser will be left home from the second season. The Rams are probably the better of the two teams, but flying up to Qwest Field and winning a game isn’t going to be an easy task for whomever the No. 5 seed would be in the playoffs, let alone for the Rams, who are still below .500 at this point in the year. However, what we’re not so sure of is whether QB Matt Hasselbeck will be the man under center or not this week. He injured his hip last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and isn’t expected to practice all week, and if he can’t go, QB Charlie Whitehurst is going to be forced under center, where he has been awful all season long. That’s why St. Louis is a slight one point favorite on the NFL odds.

The Indianapolis Colts are in a situation where they just have to win to get into the second season, and they are tremendous favorites to do so against the Tennessee Titans, a team that they dominated but couldn’t beat the pro football odds against just three weeks ago. Now, Indy knows that RB Dominic Rhodes and RB Joseph Addai can give it a shot in the arm in the ground game, which might make it even more dominating. The Titans know that they are just trying to play the spoiler role, but they are 9.5 point underdogs to pull off the upset.

The AFC North title is on the line in Cleveland and Baltimore this weekend. Should the Pittsburgh Steelers knock off the Cleveland Browns at the Dawg Pound, they would get the job done and earn a first round bye in the playoffs. There’s a big question whether S Troy Polamalu is going to be playing in this one, and if he doesn’t, Cleveland has proven that it can score points and move the pigskin against even the best defenses in the NFL. Don’t be shocked if the six point pups do some damage.

If that’s what happens, the Baltimore Ravens hold their own destiny in the AFC North race. Baltimore needs a win and a Pittsburgh loss to get the job done, something that isn’t going to happen easily. A loss to the Cincinnati Bengals earlier this season might prove to ultimately be the difference between the Ravens playing a home game in the second round of the playoffs and needing to win on the road three times to make it to the Super Bowl. The combination of some revenge and the fact that the division title could still be had makes the Ravens a hefty 10 point favorite on Sunday. However, remember that the Bengals knocked the San Diego Chargers out of the playoffs last week at home as 7.5 point dogs, so the possibility of an upset is there.

The NFC playoff race still has a lot of odds and ends to sort out for the two Wild Card spots, and we will be sure to discuss this later in the week. The only game that is on the Week 17 rotation schedule right now with any effect on the Wild Card chase is the duel between the New York Giants and the Washington Redskins. Simply put, this is a must win game for New York, which knows that it put itself in a major bind with a 45-17 loss at the Green Bay Packers in Week 16. The Redskins have been feisty, just as they were last week with an upset against the Jacksonville Jaguars on the road. They’re only 3.5 point home dogs in this divisional rivalry to end the regular season.

The newest addition to the NFL lines of the most note is the clash between the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers. Green Bay is perhaps the luckiest team in the NFL right now, as it gets to host the men from the Windy City with very little to play for. Instead of needing this one for a first round bye, the Bears clinched no worse than the No. 2 seed in the playoffs with the Philadelphia Eagles’ loss on Tuesday Night Football to the Minnesota Vikings. Yes, Chicago could get up to the No. 1 seed, but it would take a small miracle for that to happen. The oddsmakers aren’t expected the Bears to really care much about this one, as they are 10 point underdogs. The win for Green Bay would eliminate both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who are +7.5 at the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, and the New York Giants.

The playoff races can really get sorted out once and for all in Week 16, as virtually every single spot in the postseason can be clinched this week with the right results, while other teams are just narrowly hanging on for dear life for that last slender shot at capturing the Lombardi Trophy.

The weekend is going to kick off on Thursday night, as the Pittsburgh Steelers can help make the race in the AFC North a heck of a lot less interesting if they can beat the Carolina Panthers. Carolina showed its pulse last week by beating the Arizona Cardinals at home, but this is obviously a totally different situation, especially with the men in black and gold coming off of their loss to the New York Jets in Week 15. You’ll want to make sure you keep track of our NFL picks in this one, as Pittsburgh is being asked to lay a hefty 13.5 points. A win parlayed with a Baltimore Ravens loss wins the AFC North and clinches a first round bye in the playoffs in the AFC.

The New England Patriots are just one win away from snaring the No. 1 seed in the playoffs as well. The pressure is really off of QB Tom Brady and company in this one, as there are two chances to get the job done. You can bet that the Bills, who have been playing tough ball of late, are going to want to continue their streak of games having stuck within at least three points. New England is favored by 8.5 points on the NFL betting lines, though.

One of the most interesting games of the second to last Sunday of the regular season happens at the Edward Jones Dome, where the St. Louis Rams and San Francisco 49ers meet up. The Rams probably need to win both of their final two games to get into the playoffs this season, which would complete a remarkable turnaround from a season in which they went just 1-15. St. Louis might only be 6-8 this year, but it can ensure that next week’s game becomes a de facto NFC West title game against the Seattle Seahawks by putting San Fran out of its misery once and for all. Somehow, the 49ers just continue to stick around in this division race, and two wins will most likely win the division at 7-9. In this one though, they are 2.5 point underdogs.

The Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs put their playoff hopes on the line at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday as well. The Titans need two wins paired with two losses by both the Jacksonville Jaguars and Indianapolis Colts to get into the playoffs, something that is going to be very difficult, yet at least potentially reasonable. KC wins the AFC West with a win and a loss by the San Diego Chargers in Week 16. Even though they are 6-0 at home this year, the Chiefs feel like they are getting disrespected on the opening Week 16 lines in this one, as they are favored by just five points over a team that is most likely finishing below .500.

As for the Colts as Jags, they’re both favored in their week 16 games. Jacksonville should have a significantly easier time against the Washington Redskins, where it is favored by 6.5 points, than Indy will against the Oakland Raiders, where it is a field goal choice of the oddsmakers. Indianapolis needs a combination of two wins or two Jacksonville losses to get into the playoffs by winning the AFC South.

Though the contest probably means very little, the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints will meet on Monday Night Football, the final one of the 2010 campaign. Atlanta wins the NFC South and the No. 1 seed in the playoffs with a win, but the exact same thing will be accomplished with a win next week against the Carolina Panthers at home. New Orleans can clinch a playoff berth with a win as well on Monday, though that spot might already be clinched with some help prior to this kickoff. The Falcons won the battle between these two teams at the Superdome in OT earlier this year, and they are 2.5 point favorites to pick up the season sweep on MNF.

For all of the teams that just narrowly hung on to their playoff lives in Week 14, Week 15 picks are going to feature a matter of survival once again. The biggest teams that are still trying to survive are the San Francisco 49ers and the San Diego Chargers. These two teams both kept their seasons alive last week with huge wins, and now they’ll meet at Qualcomm Stadium on Thursday Night Football in what amounts to be the biggest game of the year for both teams to date. San Diego is probably in worse shape and needs this win more, as it has a tough task to run down the Kansas City Chiefs than the Niners do in the NFC West against all of the teams there. Still, this instate rivalry is going to be very, very intense, and both of these teams are going to be going all out to stay alive for the race to the playoffs. The Chargers are eight point home favorites and are probably going to be very, very public.

The Miami Dolphins are still staying alive at this point, as they pulled off the big time upset against the New York Jets last week. They still need to win out and get a heck of a lot of help to get the job done, but we have a hard time picking against Head Coach Tony Sparano. Sparano just tends to do what he needs to do on a regular basis. Though playing at home has been very difficult at time for the Fins, they’ll have to be at their best on Sunday. The Buffalo Bills and their big time cover streak are in town, and the visitors are catching 5.5 points in Week 15.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers just barely survived against the Washington Redskins last week, and now, they are getting a little bit closer towards a playoff berth after watching the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears both lose in Week 14. This is the easiest game of the year left for Tampa Bay on Sunday, as it has the Detroit Lions. Remember that these Lions beat those aforementioned Packers last week, and they have one of the best ATS marks in the league. However, if Detroit is going to prove to be frisky for another upset this week, it is going to have to do so as a six point underdog.

The biggest game of the day in Week 15 involves the New York Jets and the Pittsburgh Steelers. There really should be no doubt that these two teams are going to the postseason, but they are going to try to get a leg up on the other one in a potential playoff fight. New York badly needs to get back in the win column in a hurry to stop the sting from two straight losses, while the Steelers are just looking to make sure that they keep the Baltimore Ravens off of their backs. At home, it should come as no surprise that the men in black and gold are favorites, but it seems like a stretch that they are favored by 6.5 on the NFL betting lines.

The other big time game goes on in Indianapolis, where the Jacksonville Jaguars are going to try to put away the AFC South for all intents and purposes. If they can beat the Indianapolis Colts, the AFC South might be clinched, and the Colts will be eliminated from postseason contention. The season is on the line for QB Peyton Manning, who really needs to get back in gear after throwing 11 INTs in his last four games. The hosts are favored by 4.5 points.

All eyes in the NFC will be on the Atlanta Falcons, who might be playing their last difficult game of the season. We already know that someone is going to have to beat them in the Georgia Dome to make it to the Super Bowl, but a win on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks could wrap up the No. 1 seed in the playoffs in the NFC. Seattle isn’t really expected to be able to put up a fight here, as it is a dog by 6.5 points.
