Number 6 Pick: San Francisco 49ers – Vernon Davis (LB, Maryland Terrapins)

The simple explanation for Vernon Davis is that he is a freak. He can do it all: run, jump, catch, block, and break tackles. Some scouts have said that Vernon Davis is not only far and away the best tight end of all the NFL Football picks in 2006, but that he is the best wide receiver in the draft as well. Davis is one of the best tight ends to come out in a long time, and his record breaking numbers, including a 4.4 40 time back it up. He will step in to the struggling 49ers offense and right away be a go-to-guy in the NFL. The only down side to Davis is that he is not as tall as some of the big named tight ends in the game, although he does make up for it with his immense power. Vernon Davis has a promising career ahead in the National Football League.
