New York Jets (4-3) @ Buffalo Bills (5-2)

Spread: Buffalo – 5.5
Over/Under: 42
Preview: With Buffalo falling on Sunday, this game has now turned into a top AFC East battle. The Jets coming off a 28-24 win over Kansas City now feel like they can compete for the title in the division. The Jets are only outscoring opponents 182-170 on the season. The Jets are 1-2 on the road thus far in 2008. Brett Favre has thrown for over 1600 yards and 15 touchdowns in his first season in the Big Apple. The Jets trail both New England and Buffalo with identical 5-2 records atop the division. For the Bills; the 25-16 loss to Miami was not exactly what they planned. Regardless, the Bills are still in a deadlock atop the division. Buffalo must regroup and it will need to start at home on Sunday. The Bills have scored 165 points and allowed 143 on the year. So far in 2008, Buffalo is 3-0 at home with wins over Seattle, Oakland and San Diego. Quarterback Trent Edwards has completed 127 of 187 passes on the year for 1436 yards, but just five touchdown passes.

Detroit Lions (0-7) @ Chicago Bears (4-3)
Time: 1:00pm EST
Spread: Chicago – 13.5
Over/Under: 43
Preview: Heading into week nine, the Detroit Lions have still yet to win a game. Opponents 212-114 on the season have outscored Detroit, and things do not appear to be heading towards a change on Sunday. The Chicago Bears come to town; with their 194 points scored, led by Kyle Orton at quarterback. The Lions are 0-4 on the road this year. For Chicago, after their bye week, the Bears are looking to pad another win in the column of their leading NFC North. Tied with Green Bay at 4-3, the Bears are coming a week seven win over Minnesota. Kyle Orton has thrown for nearly 1700 yards and 10 touchdowns. Rookie running back Matt Forte has ran for 515 yards and four touchdowns on the season. The Bears hope to get by Detroit before their schedule gets tougher, hosting Tennessee, before traveling to Green Bay, St. Louis and Minnesota three straight weeks. The Bears and Lions met October 5th, with the Bears winning 34-7.

Jacksonville Jaguars (3-4) @ Cincinnati Bengals (0-8)

Spread: Jacksonville – 7.5
Over/Under: 40
Preview: The Jacksonville Jaguars will head to Cincinnati on Sunday, and don’t surprise if the Jaguars play with a little chip on their shoulder. Surprising everyone, including Jacksonville the Cleveland Browns came to town and knocked the Jaguars off 23-17 on Sunday. The loss knocked Jacksonville back to 3-4 overall, and now they are 3.5 games behind Tennessee in the NFC South. The Jaguars are behind the Colts, who face Tennessee on Monday night, by ½ game. Jacksonville has been outscored on the season 151-141. The Jaguars are 2-1 this season on the road. For Cincinnati, life has been rough. At 0-8 the Bengals are looking for anything to assist them in their first win. With eight straight losses; Baltimore, Tennessee, NY Giants, Cleveland, Dallas, NY Jets, Pittsburgh and Houston; the Bengals are quickly becoming a walking time bomb. Marvin Lewis most likely has limited time left of his Bengals life, as the offense can’t quite get it going. The Bengals have been outscored 217-104 this season.

Baltimore Ravens (4-3) @ Cleveland Browns (3-4)
Time: 1:00pm EST
Spread: Cleveland – 1.5
Over/Under:  36.5
Preview: The Ravens have found their way to two straight wins after dropping three straight. With wins over Miami and Oakland the Ravens are back in the AFC North hunt. Sitting just one game back of Pittsburgh  (5-2), the Ravens feel they still have a shot at a title. Baltimore has outscored teams 134-110 on the year. For Cleveland, they also feel they can still make up ground and make a run at the division. Winners of three of four; including a week eight win over Jacksonville the Browns are 3-4. Cleveland started the season losing to the Cowboys, Steelers and Ravens, but then took two straight over the Bengals and the Giants. Derek Anderson, after a slow start has picked it up offensively for Cleveland. Anderson has thrown for over 1200 yards and 7 touchdowns on the season. Baltimore defeated Cleveland 28-10 on September 21st.

Green Bay Packers (4-3) @ Tennessee Titans (7-0)
Time: 1:00pm EST
Spread: Tennessee – 5.5
Over/Under: 41.5
Preview: The Green Bay Packers coming off their bye week are looking to knock off the NFL’s lone unbeaten team. The Packers at 4-3 at tied for the lead in the NFC North with Chicago. The Packers four wins have come over Minnesota, Detroit, Seattle and Indianapolis. In their four games, Green Bay has scored 194 and allowed 159. The Packers are 2-1 on the road this season. For Tennessee, after the Monday nights win over divisional rival Indianapolis; the Titans moved to a full four games ahead of the rest of the division.  Jacksonville, Indianapolis and Houston are all 3-4 in the AFC South. In seven games, the Titans have allowed just 87 points while scoring 180. Tennessee is 4-0 at LP Field this season. After Green Bay leaves town the Titans will travel to Chicago and Jacksonville the next two weeks.

Houston Texans (3-4) @ Minnesota Vikings (3-4)
Time: 1:00pm EST
Spread: Minnesota – 4.5
Over/Under: 46.5
Preview: Houston, after starting the season with four straight losses have won three straight games and are in the mix for a playoff spot in the AFC. The Texans have beaten Miami, Detroit and Cincinnati the last three weeks. In the three wins the Texans are averaging 30.7 points per game. The Texans blasted Cincinnati on Sunday 35-6. For Minnesota, coming off their bye week, they are also looking to climb back to .500 on the season. The Vikings have three wins; over Carolina, New Orleans and Detroit, while they have fallen to Green Bay, Indianapolis, Tennessee, and Chicago. The Vikings are being outscored on the season 167-154. Minnesota is 2-1 this season at home.

Arizona Cardinals (4-3) @ St. Louis Rams (2-5)
Time: 1:00pm EST
Spread: Arizona – 3
Over/Under: 49
Preview: The Arizona Cardinals are the leaders of the NFC West with a 4-3 record. Arizona has scored 200 points in seven games this season. Kurt Warner has completed 184 of 262 passes for 2089 yards and 14 touchdowns on the year. Arizona leads Seattle and St. Louis by two full games in the division. Arizona is 1-3 so far this season when playing on the road. The Rams, after two big wins over Dallas and Washington are coming off a loss to New England on Sunday. The Rams running back Stephen Jackson missed last week with an injury but looks to be back in the lineup this week. St. Louis has scored just 112 points and allowed 201. The Rams are 1-2 in home games this season.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-3) @ Kansas City Chiefs (1-6)
Time: 1:00pm EST
Spread: Tampa Bay – 8.5
Over/Under: 36.5
Preview: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are coming off a 13-9 loss at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. Tampa Bay has won five of their first eight games this season with wins over Atlanta, Chicago, Green Bay, Seattle and Carolina. Tampa Bay’s three losses have come to New Orleans, Denver and Dallas. Jeff Garcia, taking the place of Brian Griese has completed 106 of 157 passes for 1024 yards and completed 4 touchdown passes. The Bucs trail Carolina in the NFC South, as the Panthers are currently 6-2. The Kansas City Chiefs have struggled mightily this season with their lone win coming on September 28th over Denver. The Chiefs have lost three straight games; Carolina, Tennessee and the NY Jets. Kansas City sits alone at the bottom of the AFC West with a 1-6 record. On the season the Chiefs have been outscored 193-99. Kansas City is 1-2 at home this season.

Miami Dolphins (3-4) @ Denver Broncos (4-3)
Time: 4:05pm EST
Spread: Denver - 3
Over/Under:  49
Preview: The Miami Dolphins came up with a huge Sunday. In the 25-16 win, quarterback Chad Pennington threw for over 300 yards and did not turn the ball over. Miami has won three games this season; New England, San Diego and Buffalo. The Dolphins still sit in last place in the AFC East; trailing the Jets, Bills and Patriots. Miami has been outscored 146-145 on the season. The Dolphins are 1-2 when playing on the road this season. The Broncos are coming off their bye week in week eight, and it came at a good time. New England 41-7 topped seven Denver in week seven. The Broncos started 3-0 with wins over Oakland, San Diego, and New Orleans. Quarterback Jay Cutler who has thrown for over 1800 yards and 13 touchdowns leads the Broncos. Despite the loss the Broncos still lead the AFC West with a 4-3 record. They led San Diego by a game and half; with a 3-4 record. Denver is 3-1 when playing at home this season.

Atlanta Falcons (4-3) @ Oakland Raiders (2-5)
Time: 4:15pm EST
Spread: Atlanta – 2.5
Over/Under: 41
Preview: The Atlanta Falcons are coming off a 27-14 loss to Philadelphia on Sunday. In the loss, quarterback Matt Ryan couldn’t seem to get the offense going, as he only threw two interceptions on the night. Running back Michael Turner was limited to 58 yards on 17 carries in the loss. Atlanta has wins this season over Detroit, Kansas City, Green Bay, and Chicago. The three Falcons losses have come to Tampa Bay, Carolina and Philadelphia. The Falcons are being outscored 154-153 on the season. Atlanta is 1-3 when on the road this year. Oakland is coming off a 29-10 defeat at the hands of the Ravens. The Raiders have two wins on the year; coming over Kansas City and the Jets. The five losses for Oakland have been to Denver, Buffalo, San Diego, New Orleans and Baltimore. Oakland has been outscored on the season 177-107. The Raiders are 1-2 in home games this season.

Philadelphia Eagles (4-3) @ Seattle Seahawks (2-5)
Time: 4:15pm EST
Spread: Philadelphia – 6.5
Over/Under: 43
Preview: The Eagles, who still sit in last place in the NFC East with a 4-3 record, look to continue to post wins and creep their way back in the mix. The Giants lead the division with a 6-1 record, while Washington is 6-2 and Dallas is 5-3. The Eagles are coming off two straight wins of San Francisco and Atlanta. After the battle with Seattle on Sunday, the Eagles will host the divisional leader; New York Giants. For Seattle, they are coming off a win in which they were able to score 34-13 points. In the win over the 49ers, quarterback Seneca Wallace was able to threw for 222 yards. Seattle has won both their games over divisional foes; St. Louis and San Francisco. The Seahawks are in third last place in the NFC West, trailing Arizona and St. Louis.

Dallas Cowboys (5-3) @ New York Giants (6-1)
Time: 4:15pm EST
Spread: NY Giants - 9
Over/Under: 41
Preview: Both Dallas and the Giants are coming off hard fought wins on Sunday. The Cowboys, only scored 13 points, but limited Tampa Bay to just 9 in a win that moved Dallas to 5-3 on the year. With quarterback Tony Romo out Brad Johnson has struggled in his starts. The Cowboys are 1.5 games behind the Giants in the NFC East. The Cowboys are outscoring opponents 202-184 on the season. Dallas will take on New York, then their bye week before heading to Washington for a tough stretch of NFC East games. The Giants are coming off a 21-14 win over Pittsburgh, in which they trailed 14-9 in the fourth quarter. A field goal, safety and touchdown later the Giants improved to 6-1. Quarterback Eli Manning has thrown for 1588 yards and nine touchdowns on the year. His top running back Brandon Jacobs has rushed for six touchdowns. The Giants have won all four of their games at home this season, and look to continue that on Sunday.

New England Patriots (5-2) @ Indianapolis Colts (3-4)
Time: 8:15pm EST
Spread: Indianapolis -6
Over/Under: 41
Preview: The Sunday Night Football game will feature two squads that have had great seasons in recent history, but are both having difficult times in the 2008 NFL season. The Patriots are 5-2, but have had a rough start, losing MVP Tom Brady to a season ending injury and then a 38-13 blasting at the hands of the lowly Miami Dolphins. Quarterback Matt Cassell has completed 131 of 199 passes for 1362 yards and seven touchdowns this season. His top running back Laurence Maroney is now out for the season with an injury. Randy Moss has caught 32 catches for 471 yards and four touchdowns on the year. The New England Patriots are tied with the Buffalo Bills at 5-2 and at the top of the AFC East. The Indianapolis Colts come in after seven games with an under .500 record; at 3-4. Coming off a Monday Night Football loss to divisional foe Tennessee; the Colts sit four games back in the division. The Colts have been outscored on the year 149-162. Indianapolis has struggled at home this season with a 1-2 mark.

Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2) @ Washington Redskins (6-2)

Spread: Washington -3
Over/Under: 37.5
Preview: The Steelers felt they had all the chances to come away with a win Sunday against the defending champion New York Giants. Getting outscored 12-0 in the final quarter did not help their cause; as they fell 21-14. The Steelers are now 5-2 on the season. Pittsburgh still leads the AFC North, leading Baltimore by one full game and Cleveland by two games. Pittsburgh has scored 155 points and allowed 110 on the season. In road games this year the Steelers are 3-1; with wins over Cleveland, Jacksonville and Cincinnati. Their lone road loss this season was in Philadelphia. For Washington, the Redskins sit just ½ game behind the Giants in the NFC East. With a 6-2 record; Washington has wins over New Orleans, Arizona, Dallas, Philadelphia, Cleveland and Detroit. The Redskins two losses have come to NY Giants and the Rams. Washington is coming off two straight wins. The Redskins have outscored opponents 165-145 on the year.
