Fantasy Football picks are here at Bankroll Sports this year, and we are going to try to make the most of your NFL props betting options at BoDog Sportsbook by giving you some of the best fantasy football sleepers in Week 9!

Michael Bush vs. Denver Broncos
It became awfully clear on Saturday morning that Bush was going to make for a great start this week against the Broncos. Denver has one of the most porous rush defenses in the league, especially on the road, and now, Bush is going to be the primary runner without RB Darren McFadden in the fold. Parlay all of that with the fact that QB Carson Palmer is still really trying to learn the ropes of his new offense. He has been in camp now just about two and a half weeks, and there is no way that Head Coach Hue Jackson is going to let Palmer do everything that a healthy QB Jason Campbell would have been given the rights to do. Bush will tote the rock at least 20, if not maybe even 30 times on Sunday, and we would be brutally disappointed if he didn’t end up with at least 120 rushing yards and two scores when the afternoon was said and done with.

Oakland Raiders D/ST vs. Denver Broncos
QB Tim Tebow is going to rack up some fantasy points once again versus the Raiders, but the fear that he is going to end up being taken out of the game at halftime is just too much for us to want to use him. That being said, the Raiders are a defense that you could pick up off of most waiver wires this week, and they’re a unit that we might be willing to start in front of just about any other defense in the league. Denver’s offensive line is in shambles, and Tebow holds the ball far too long to be successful in the pocket. He stares down receivers, often leading to bad decisions. Forget about scoring points. If you take out the final six minutes of games, Tebow has led the Broncos to one field goal and two field goal attempts in his time under center. Oakland should put together a huge fantasy day on Sunday, and that doesn’t even include the possibility of the hidden touchdown that WR Jacoby Ford seems to be due for on special teams.

Victor Cruz vs. New England Patriots
New England’s struggles against the pass continued to show last week when it allowed 365 passing yards to QB Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers. There are some real problems for the Giants this week, as WR Hakeem Nicks really doesn’t seem to be at 100% with a hamstring injury, if he even plays at all. That being said, Cruz has been the more consistent receiver between he and WR Mario Manningham this year, and he has found the end zone four times in his last five games. This is a boom or bust receiver, though. So far this season, Cruz has had three games with either no points or one point and three games with at least 15 points in standard leagues. Knowing how bad the Pats’ secondary is, this is probably one of the weeks where Cruz can boom.

David Nelson, Buffalo Bills
WR Steve Johnson is likely to be locked up on Revis Island for the entire day, which really does leave the possibility there for Nelson to just get a slew of targets. Even the speedy WR/RB CJ Spiller might not be all that bad of a start as long as you aren’t expecting too many touchdowns. Seeing Nelson get 12 targets wouldn’t be a humongous surprise this week, as he has great size and the ability to make plays when it counts. Nelson has had just a total of 11 receptions in his last four games, a far cry from the 20 that he had in his first three games, but we do have confidence that he can get back on track in this one against the Jets with Johnson being followed by DB Darrelle Revis everywhere that he goes.

It’s going to be a mighty interesting week of NFL betting action ahead. Last week, we saw just a slew of teams that were favored by at least 9.5 points, one of which, the St. Louis Rams was able to pull off a huge upset. This week, we are expecting to see some significantly closer games.

We’ll start right there with the team that the Rams knocked off, the New Orleans Saints. It was a shocking defeat for the Saints, but it’s hard to say that it was totally out of left field. They had just scored 62 points in a game and had to feel full of themselves, and the truth of the matter is that they were probably far more concerned with this week’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers than anything else. The Bucs are off of a bye, but they are still a banged up squad, especially at running back. After losing the first time that these two teams played at Raymond James Stadium, the Saints are comfortable 7.5 point chalks in Week 9 at home.

We still have one double digit favorite on the board this week, but we expect this to be one of the few of its kind in all likelihood. The Houston Texans only just barely covered last week against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and now, they are back laying 10 against the Cleveland Browns. If QB Colt McCoy and the gang have any hope of making the postseason, this is a game that they have to win, especially knowing that there are still four games coming against the other two top contenders in the AFC North.

The Houston/Cleveland duel is one of the two battles between teams from the AFC South and the AFC North. The other game is quite interesting as well. The last time that the Tennessee Titans played at LP Field, they were laughed off of the field by those pesky Texans. Now, they have to come home to take on the Cincinnati Bengals, who really have surprised us all at 5-2 this year. If they can move to 6-2, there is a chance that they can be in first place in the division. That being said, the oddsmakers are still giving the nod to the hosts by three, the value of home field advantage.

There is a definite lack of respect for the 5-2 New York Giants right now. At home this year, they already lost to the lowly Seattle Seahawks, and they were trailing for the majority of the game against the winless (and hapless) Miami Dolphins. Now, they have to go on the road at the New England Patriots, who have now put together back to back games of fewer than 21 points scored after posting 13 straight games with 30+ scored. QB Tom Brady has to be licking his chops about going against such a young secondary, especially if DB Prince Amukamara is going to make his debut in this game. Welcome to the NFL, rook. The Giants are 9.5 point underdogs in spite of the fact that they have an identical record to the Pats, and this game features the highest ‘total’ of the week at 51.5.

Another team that really doesn’t feel like it is getting enough respect is the San Francisco 49ers. Head coach Jim Harbaugh has to be the early front runner for Coach of the Year honors, as he has transformed a team that couldn’t compete in a miserable division last year to one that is dominating it. The Washington Redskins were just shut out last week in Toronto against a Buffalo Bills team that isn’t exactly known for its defense. Now, it has to face off with these Niners in Landover. It seems like a bit of a trap for now, but San Francisco is favored by 3.5.

The Buffalo Bills are quietly a playoff team right now as well, as they are sitting atop the AFC East. If they can win this game against the New York Jets, they might suddenly become huge favorites to get into the playoffs after having nothing but doubt cast over them for the whole first half of the season. Remember that the Pats have already lost here at Ralph Wilson Stadium this year, and New York has been absolutely atrocious in three road games thus far on the campaign. There’s a reason why the Bills are favored by a point and a half.

All eyes will be on Sunday Night Football though, as the Baltimore Ravens vs. Pittsburgh Steelers is clearly the game of the day. These two are always just hitting each other with blow after blow every single game that they play, and this shouldn’t be an exception. The Steelers are the team really in need of this one after getting destroyed at M&T Bank Stadium in Week 1, as getting swept in the season series would be tremendous cause for concern even though they would only be a half game back in the AFC North. The oddsmakers lined Baltimore as a favorite by 2.5 when these teams met in Week 1, and now, the Steelers are 3.5 point favorites on the Week 9 NFL lines.

There are two games that are still off the board as of Monday morning that we are really going to be keeping a close eye on this week. The San Diego Chargers play on Monday Night Football against the Kansas City Chiefs, but they have to avoid looking down the road to this game with the Green Bay Packers. This might be the toughest test, save for perhaps a trip to Ford Field on Thanksgiving Day against the Detroit Lions, that Green Bay has left on its schedule. QB Aaron Rodgers and company will have had an additional week to prepare for this game, and it really could come in handy.

Finally on Monday Night Football, the Chicago Bears are likely to be decided underdogs against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field. These two teams are fringe postseason contenders right now, but in spite of the fact that both are on a tad bit of a roll coming into this game, there is a much better public mojo around the 3-4 Eagles than the 4-3 Bears, especially with this game being played in the City of Brotherly Love.

It’s another potential “Roadblock Saturday” for a number of the top teams in the country. Though none of the teams that are on the road are likely candidates for the BCS National Championship Game any longer, BCS dreams can be smashed for a number of teams that were once top contenders.

We’ll start with the Clemson Tigers in the ACC. Sure, the Tigers are right in the thick of things in the Top 10 in the land, and yes, they are still an undefeated team. However, they are going to have a tough road to finishing undefeated and will need a lot of help to play for all of the marbles. Clemson is traveling to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets this week. Before they lost two in a row, the Ramblin’ Wreck probably would have been favored in this game. However, with back to back losses, G-Tech is a 4.5 point home underdog at Bobby Dodd Stadium.

The big team that is facing a roadblock this week is the Michigan State Spartans. Last week, we all know just how big of a win that MSU picked up at the gun against Wisconsin. It’s hard to think that this week could be even harder, but that probably is the case. No longer are the Spartans playing in East Lansing, and instead, they are playing in Lincoln, where the Nebraska Cornhuskers are seemingly unbeatable by even the best teams in the nation. There’s a reason that Big Red is favored by four points at home.

Last week was the roadblock for the Big East, as both the West Virginia Mountaineers and Rutgers Scarlet Knights were knocked off on Friday night football. Now, these two teams are going to meet up in Piscataway. Should West Virginia lose this game, the Big East probably won’t have a ranked team again for the rest of the season, and the loser of this one is going to likely be out of the Big East title race. WVU is still getting the big time respect of the oddsmakers, as it is favored by a touchdown on the road.

Other Top 25 teams that are on the road this week…

The Wisconsin Badgers, who were beaten in that game in East Lansing last week, have another very, very tough test this week in the Horseshoe against the Ohio State Buckeyes. It’s hard to believe that the Buckeyes are underdogs by more than a touchdown on their home field, especially with all of the suspended players from the start of this season available in this one off of an OSU bye. Wisconsin is favored by 7.5, the same 7.5 that it was favored by when it was beaten at Michigan State.

It was only a handful of years ago that a 41.5 point underdog, the Stanford Cardinal were 41.5 point underdogs at the USC Trojans and pulling off the biggest upset arguably in college football history. USC has been nothing but down since that point, while Stanford has been nothing but on the rise. Now, the Cardinal are favored by nine points. It’s amazing that in just four years, the spread has flipped a whopping 50 points between these two teams! USC has a chance to play spoiler in this one though, and it doesn’t have anything else to play for with no bowl game to look forward to. This is a dangerous, dangerous spot for the visitors to say the least.

The South Carolina Gamecocks are 4.5 point favorites over the Tennessee Volunteers, marking the third straight incredibly difficult game that the boys from Rocky Top have had to play. Also, the Arkansas Razorbacks are 10.5 point favorites over the Vanderbilt Commodores in Nashville, while the Virginia Tech Hokies have to travel to the Duke Blue Devils as 15 point favorites.

There are a number of weekday games this week as well, but there probably won’t be all that much of a surprise about which teams are going to be winning the games. All five road teams are significant underdogs in the weekday duels.

In the Sun Belt, the Florida International Golden Panthers badly need a Tuesday night win over the Troy Trojans if they have any chance of making a bowl game. Troy is the perennial power in the Sun Belt, but this year, it is just playing out the string and almost certainly will not finish .500. FIU is favored by 6.5 points at home even though it was beaten last Tuesday night at the Arkansas State Red Wolves.

On the first Wednesday night game of the year, the Pitt Panthers and the Connecticut Huskies are going to try to take a big step towards bowl eligibility. At least one of the two probably won’t make the six win cut this year, and the other will surely be very close. That being said, both are still alive in the Big East title hunt as well, but the loser is in big trouble. Pittsburgh is a 9.5 point favorite, so the oddsmakers still think that these two teams are miles apart in spite of their identical records.

Thursday features a pair of games that are figured to be a blowout. The Virginia Cavaliers are 14.5 point underdogs at the Miami Hurricanes, while the Houston Cougars are getting the nod by four touchdowns over the Rice Owls in the battle of Houston.

Finally on Friday night, the TCU Horned Frogs are going to try to get back towards the Top 25 when they take on the BYU Cougars. These two teams used to share the Mountain West together, and when that was the case, TCU dominated over the past few seasons. The oddsmakers are expecting nothing different this time around, as the Horned Frogs are favored by 12.5 in Fort Worth.

Week 9 of the 2010 NFL campaign is going to get underway this weekend. Below you will find the current list of 2010 Week 9 NFL lines and spreads along with a breakdown of the Week 9 NFL odds. Be sure to check out the free NFL picks from the expert handicappers at Bankroll Sports this weekend…

A number of so called “better” teams are heading on the road to highlight the action this weekend, and here at Bankroll Sports, we’ll have all of our NFL Week 9 picks available for you throughout the week.

The Chicago Bears are probably in the most predictable spot this week, as they are heading into Ralph Wilson Stadium off of a bye week against the Buffalo Bills. The hosts have to be happy to be back at home, especially after crushing overtime defeats against the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs on the road in back to back weeks. Buffalo remains as the last winless team in the NFL, but that could change this weekend. Still, the oddsmakers are making the Bears 2.5 point chalks.

The biggest of the road favorites of the week 9 NFL lines are the New England Patriots. The Pats are laying 5.5 at the Cleveland Browns, who are coming off of their bye week as well. Cleveland looks as though it has a great, new look on offense with QB Colt McCoy calling the shots, and this will be the ultimate test to do what fellow rookie QB Sam Bradford did in the preseason: Beat the Patriots. You know that this is a huge game for Cleveland fans, as New England HC Bill Belichick was a miserable failure with the Browns. However, the Mad Scientist knows how hot and heavy the Dawg Pound can get, but he loves really sticking it to the team that he first coached way back in the day.

At this point, the biggest favorites of all the NFL Week 9 lines are the Atlanta Falcons. They’re taking on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in what might be the biggest game of the season for both teams. First place in the NFC South will be on the line, as the Bucs are only trailing Atlanta by a half game. We know that Tampa Bay really hasn’t played a solid schedule as of yet, but it has a chance to really prove the oddsmakers wrong in this one with what would be an excellent win on the road. The problem is that the two times that the Bucs have run up against definitive postseason teams this year, they were crushed by both the New Orleans Saints and Pittsburgh Steelers. The Falcons are getting healthy and are coming off of their bye week, and they have no desire to fall back to the pack in the NFC South. Atlanta is lined at -9 on the opening lines.

Perhaps the most interesting matchup of the week is that of the Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens don’t lose at home often, though they were threatened by the aforementioned Bills in their most recent game two weeks ago. However now, they are coming off of their bye and certainly have their hands full with the Fins this week. Miami improved to 4-0 SU and ATS on the road this year last week by upsetting the Cincinnati Bengals 22-14, and the oddsmakers have appropriately adjusted the line accordingly. The Fish are still dogs, but only catching 4.5 points at M&T Bank Stadium seems like a short line.

As always in the NFL, we’re on QB Brett Favre alert, as we are worried about whether he’ll be able to keep his streak alive of consecutive games played after last week’s jarring hit against the New England Patriots that knocked him out of the lineup. We know that WR Randy Moss won’t be with the team anymore, as he was released on Monday just three games after being traded for from the same Pats that beat Minnesota last weekend. The Vikes are currently off the board against the Arizona Cardinals at home on Sunday until the Favre situation is officially sorted out.

In regards to the ‘total’, at least at this point, all eight games on the board are listed with ‘totals’ between 40 and 45, but we fully expect to see some bigger numbers by the time these games all go up and go off the board on Sunday.

The Oregon Ducks have to want to know what in the heck they did wrong last week. They beat the snot out of the UCLA Bruins 60-14, and though the No. 1 team in the land, the Oklahoma Sooners, ultimately ended up dropping to the Missouri Tigers, it was the Auburn Tigers that moved up to No. 1, not Oregon. The Quack Attack has a great chance to make a name for themselves this weekend in Pasadena against the USC Trojans, who arguably would be good enough to be in the Top 25 this year if they were eligible for the BCS rankings. It isn’t often that you see the men of Troy getting points at home, but that’s what’s happening on Saturday night, as the Ducks are laying 6.5.

What about that stingy Auburn team… The Tigers now have the odds on favorite to win the Heisman Trophy in QB Cam Newton, but they also have a suddenly dubious distinction of being the No. 1 team in the land that is about to head on the road. No, running up against the Mississippi Rebels isn’t as difficult as the tests that the Sooners, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Alabama Crimson Tide have faced, but there’s a reason that the top team in the country is only laying a touchdown on the road against a very scary Ole Miss team led by the improving QB Jeremiah Masoli.

One of the great rivalry games in college football is this weekend, as the Florida Gators and Georgia Bulldogs meet in the World’s Largest Cocktail Party in Jacksonville, FL. UF is almost always favored in this game, but thanks to its three game losing streak and UGA’s three straight wins in conference, the Dawgs are actually the choices of the oddsmakers by a field goal. The winner of this game will have a leg up in the SEC race, but of these two teams, only the Gators control their own destiny to get to the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta.

Perhaps the biggest game of the weekend is going to be play in Lincoln on Saturday night. The Nebraska Cornhuskers might have saved their season last week by taking care of the Oklahoma State Cowboys in Stillwater, but now they have to run into the last undefeated team standing in this conference, the Missouri Tigers. Though it is a long ways away from a sure thing, the Tigers would essentially wrap up a berth in the Big XII Championship Game with a win, as Nebraska would be two back and the tiebreaker. That means that the ‘Zou would have to avoid losing three games from here on out, and it would still get a chance to play for the Big XII crown. The ‘Huskers control their own destiny in their final season in the Big XII, and this would be a great chance to keep themselves in the driver’s seat for the BCS as opposed to finding themselves in a second or third tier bowl game.

The Michigan State Spartans are all the way up to No. 5 in the country this week, and they might have their last big test of the season as well. Their offense is going to be tested by a very stout defense of the Iowa Hawkeyes, who have to be steaming after that loss to the Wisconsin Badgers last week. With their only shot of winning the Big Ten laying on the line, the Hawkeyes are actually laying 6.5 points against one of the few undefeated teams left in the nation.

We’re getting tired of saying it each and every week, but once again, the two biggest favorites on the college football betting board are the Boise State Broncos and the TCU Horned Frogs. Boise State played on Tuesday night and just narrowly missed covering a whopping 37.5 point spread. However, the Horned Frogs are laying five full touchdowns at the UNLV Rebels on Saturday night in what really shouldn’t be a close game.

The team with the only undefeated ATS mark in the country, the Utah Utes, will need to beat the Air Force Falcons in Colorado Springs by more than a touchdown to move to 7-0-1 ATS on the year.

The underdogs attempted to battle back in week 8, but still fell one game short as the favorites held the edge for yet another week at 6-5 ATS over the underdog teams. Of course that is not including the Giants/Eagles game that was listed as a “Pick Em” early in the week. The Eagles actually blew out the Giants as a slight favorite at kickoff that would have increased that lead to 7-5. Last week we warned that there were a high volume of games with heavy favorites. However, out of 5 games with double digit favorites only the Bears satisfied the bookmakers as the underdogs took a strong 4-1 ATS advantage as double digit underdogs dogs. Also, there were a ton of home team favorites last week as well. The Buffalo Bills were the only home underdog last week out of all week 8 match-ups. Those home teams held a 7-5 SU advantage which got things back to an equilibrium point after the road team’s conquered week 7. The unders took back control this week with a 7-6 advantage over the overs bettors. The under total may be something to keep an eye on as the temperatures continue to drop and defenses begin to become a bigger importance each week. Heading into and looking at the week 9 NFL spreads, the home teams will have similar expectations to dominate again. The home guys are favored in 10 of the 13 match-ups this weekend and 4 of the 5 double digit favorites are also home teams. In reference to the expected increase in defense mentioned before, there is just one total for this weekend’s NFL lines that is listed above the 50 point mark; which means less scoring will be expected as a whole. Some interesting games to keep on the radar include the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles who will be battling for control of the NFC East. The Eagles despite a rocky start this season are 3 point favorites over the Cowboys probably as a result from their huge blowout over the Giants last week. The emerging Miami Dolphins will also try to take down the mighty New England Patriots this weekend. The Patriots are showing 10 ½ point favorites, but that could be a more interesting game than most expect. Denver and Pittsburgh will take the big stage this Monday night in a battle of AFC supremacy. The Broncos suffered their first loss of the season last week, but will actually be slight favorites on Monday Night Football against the defending Super Bowl Champions.
