2014 Golf US Open Odds, Picks & Info
2014 U.S. Open Scheduled Dates: June 12-15, 2014
2014 US Open Location: Pinehurst No. 2 in Pinehurst, NC
Odds On Favorite To Win The US Open: Rory McIlory (12 to 1)
Defending US Open Champion (2013 Winner): Justin Rose
2014 US Open TV Coverage – Network: ESPN & NBC

The 2014 US open takes place at Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, NC on the second weekend in June. Justin Rose (US Open Golf Betting Lines: 22 to 1 at BetOnline) will be defending his crown, and thus far this year Rose has been decent with five top 10 finishes. Rose won the 2013 US Open in Marion with a consistent effort through all 4 rounds to beat Aussie Jason Day and American Phil Mickelson by 2 strokes finishing at +1 for the tournament.

Rory McIlroy (Current US Open Odds: 12 to 1 at BetOnlineis the favorite in this year’s open. McIlroy will be looking to duplicate his efforts that won him the 2011 Open Championship. He has had a top 10 finish at the Masters, finishing 8th, and currently has six top 10 finishes this year and just missed a win at the Honda Classic losing on a one hole playoff. Given his current form, McIlroy is poised for a great tournament and is due for a major win.

List Of Past US Open Golf Winners (Since 2000)

2013 US Open Winner – Justin Rose
2012 US Open Winner – Webb Simpson
2011 US Open Winner – Rory McIlroy
2010 US Open Winner – Graeme McDowell
2009 US Open Winner – Lucas Glover
2008 US Open Winner – Tiger Woods
2007 US Open Winner – Angel Cabrera
2006 US Open Winner – Geoff Ogilvy
2005 US Open Winner – Michael Campbell
2004 US Open Winner – Retief Goosen
2003 US Open Winner – Jim Furyk
2002 US Open Winner – Tiger Woods
2001 US Open Winner – Retief Goosen
2000 US Open Winner – Tiger Woods

After the Masters this season, many were talking about Bubba Watson’s second win at Augusta. However, the real story was the performance of the young American sensation Jordan Spieth (US Open Golf Betting Lines: 22 to 1 at BetOnline). Spieth had a second place finish at Augusta National, and a month later followed that performance up with a 4th place finish at The Players championship at TPC Sawgrass. This season, Spieth has 6 top 10 finishes, and is certainly proving that his performance at the Masters was no fluke. The 20-year-old definitely has the talent and poise to win a major, and could definitely be among the serious contenders at Pinehurst this year.

Speaking of the Masters, Bubba Watson (US Open Golf Betting Lines: 28 to 1 at BetOnline) is definitely playing at a high level this season, with two wins and six top 10 finishes this season. Watson was inactive for a month after his Masters victory, and his next tournament was a disappointing 48th place finish at TPC Sawgrass. Watson’s form should be monitored in the week leading up to Pinehurst, but he could very well be in the mix. Watson’s best performance in the US Open was in 2007 when he tied for 5th.

Matt Kuchar (22 to 1 Odds to win the US Open @ BetOnline) is looking like an attractive play. The Georgia Tech graduate has been solid this season, and currently ranks 4th on the PGA money list. He’s had one win and nine top 10 finishes this season, with his victory coming in April at the RBS heritage. Kuchar is great form, and is averaging 69.8 per round and had a good Masters showing finishing 5th, and a 7th place finish at the Byron Nelson Championship. If there is a player that is due for a major win, Kuchar is the guy.

Masters Odds To Win

Q: When is the 2014 Masters?
A: Thursday, 3/10 – Sunday, April 13, 2014

Q: Which TV network can I watch the event & what time will the 2014 Masters TV Coverage Air?
A: ESPN and CBS will be televising the Masters. DirectTV also has special dedicated channels (also available in a 4-screen split) for the Masters. This includes; Featured Group, Amen Corner, Network Coverage, and more.

Q: Who Was Last Year’s Masters Champion and What is his Current Odds?
Q: Who was Last Year’s Masters Runner Up: Angel Cabrera (-9)

Q: Where will the 2014 Masters be held?
A: The Maters is always (every year) at Augusta National in August, Georgia

Q: Who is Biggest Odds on Favorite to Win the 2014 Masters?
A. Most books have either the following three at the top and have this order (as of 4/1):

  1. Rory McIlroy (7.25 to 1 at 5 Dimes)
  2. Tiger Woods (9/1 at 5 Dimes)
  3. Adam Scott (10 to 1 at WagerWeb)

Q: Where can I see the rest of the 2014 Masters odds and lists of odds from reliable sportsbooks?
A: Full list of odds for the 2014 Masters can be found at the bottom of this post, courtesy of WagerWeb Sportsbook; also find odds from 5 Dimes below. Check back as we will be adding new books as their Masters odds are released and become available to bet on. We’ll also update the lists below with the latest prices as often as possible. We’ll also try to add individual 2014 Masters Prop Bets as well as heads-up lines.

Q: What are some exciting story lines to watch in this year’s Masters?
A: The first major golf tournament of the 2014 Season is here and there may be a lot more things to watch than there usually are for a major championship. All of these stories to follow make the 2014 Masters more watchable than this year’s final four. Not only that, these stories make it a very interesting major tournament in the Vegas sportsbook circle.

Here are just a few question and players to watch that are looming over August National. Come April 10th, all of these questions will all be answered;

  • Can the current #2 player in the world and defending Masters Champ, Adam Scott (10 to 1 at WagerWeb) repeat after an impressive win in last year’s Masters and an amazing career changing season in 2013?
  • Will the injured Tiger Woods (9 to 1 at 5 Dimes) at even play in this 2014 Masters? If so, you may actually be able to get some value in him right now. Something tells me he’ll endure some serious pain to win another Masters title & avoid losing his world #1 ranking
  • Can Rory McIlroy (7 to 1 at WagerWeb) put his 2011 collapse at August behind him and finally get a Green Jacket? Will Tiger Woods even compete?
  • Is this the year that the ball-smashing Dustin Johnson (18 to 1 @ 5 Dimes) finally puts a major win together. Is this the year Johnson carries his hotsreak into a major championship . Johnson has been one of the best players on the tour as of recent. He is finally starting to show us what the golf experts were raving about when his career started.

Q: Who are the players that you may have some good value on the board?
A: Here just a few I think are solid:

  • Bubba Watson at 20 to 1 (at  Wagerweb):
2012 Masters champion Bubba Watson may have some real some value at 20/1. In 2013 Watson had his struggles, and managed only 3 top 10 finishes, and was never a factor in any major. 2014 has been a different story though. He did withdraw from last weekend’s Arnold Palmer Invitational, but before that had managed three top 3 finishes, and shot a -15 to capture the Northern Trust Open at Riviera Country Club. Watson looks to be even better than his 2012 form and could definitely make a run in the tournament.
  • Adam Scott at 10 to 1 (at Wagerweb):
Defending champion Adam Scott is currently listed at 10/1 to win, where a win would put an end Tiger Wood’s ridiculously long run as the #1 player in the wold. He is very likely to be in the running for the green jacket and the World Golf Rankings give him so extra incentive. Thus far in 2014, Scott has had three top 3 finishes. He finished 3rd at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, after a disappointing 25th place finish at Cadillac championship at Doral. For the most part throughout the past 3 years, the 33 year old Australian has averaged 6 top 10 finishes, with a total of 7 of them being in majors. More often than not, Scott’s name will be mentioned as a definite factor.
  • Patrick Reed at 55 to 1 (at 5Dimes):
23 year old San Antonio native, Patrick Reed has a very good price tag at 45 to 1. 2013 was a pretty solid year 5 top 10 finishes, but his 2014 has been a lot more successful thus far. The Augusta State graduate currently has 2 PGA tour wins under his belt this year, winning the Humana Challenge and the Cadillac championship at Doral. One would have to think that he’d like to get his win in a major at the place of where he went to school
  • Webb Simpson at 95 to 1: (at 5 Dimes):
Finally, we’ll put Webb Simpson at 95/1 under consideration for a smaller play with big reward. Simpson won the 2012 US Open at the Olympic Club. Since that victory Simpson has 7 top 10 finishes, and in 2014 Simpson won the Shriners open winning by 6 strokes and dominating the field with a -24. Simpson has had only 1 appearance at Augusta, finishing 44th with a +6. Simpson certainly isn’t a favorite, but at these odds, Simpson is certainly capable of putting a fantastic weekend together.

2013 PGA Championship LogoThe 2013 PGA Championship odds are going to be challenged at the East Course of the Oak Hill Country Club starting on August 8th, as some of the best PGA expert handicappers try to beat the golf odds for this event. Join us as all of the best golfers on the planet try to claim the fourth and final major tournament title of the year in golf betting action!

Over the course of the last several years, the man that we have been waiting to bust out and become a force in the sport of golf has been Rory McIlroy (Defending PGA Championship Champion, PGA Championship Odds: 25 to 1 SportBet Sportsbook). McIlroy, to his credit, did win the PGA Championship last season, but this year has been the nightmare of all nightmares. He didn’t make the cut in his first tournament of the year at the Honda Classic, and he didn’t make the cut in the Open Championship just a few weeks ago as well. Even last week at the Bridgestone Invitational, the Northern Ireland native only managed to finish at +2, and he only had one round below par on Saturday. McIlroy hasn’t been a serious contender in an event on a Sunday since the Players Championship when he finished eighth, and he only has one Top 5 finish this year at the Valero Texas Open, a tournament which, under normal circumstances, he probably wouldn’t have played. We can’t really recommend playing McIlroy at this point, though we know that many will.

2013 PGA Championship Predictions & Info
2013 PGA Championship Dates: Thursday, August 8th – Sunday, August 11th, 2013
2013 PGA Championship Location: Oak Hill Country Club, East Course, Pittsford, NY
Defending PGA Championship Winner: Rory McIlroy
2013 PGA Championship TV Coverage – Network: TNT, CBS

Most of the bets in the PGA Championship though, are going to come in on Tiger Woods (PGA Championship Betting Odds: 3.75 to 1 @ SportBet Sportsbook). Woods is still waiting for that elusive major title, one which has gotten away from him for a half of a decade at this point. Woods did win the PGA in 2000, 2006, and 2007, so he definitely knows what he is doing at this event. That said, this is a really cheap price for a man that hasn’t won a major in quite somet ime. Tiger though, won last week at the Bridgestone Invitational going away, and he has to be poised and ready to go for this one. He was in the second to last group at the Open Championship a few weeks back, and though he didn’t win and sort of shriveled a bit on Sunday, he was still right in the thick of the fight and would have been right there had Phil Mickelson not gone on his outrageous tear on Sunday to win the event. There is going to be a point that Tiger tames the world and wins that major tournament he has craved, and this very well could be the week that happens.

List Of Past The PGA Championship Winners (Since 2000)
2012 – Rory McIlroy
2011 – Keegan Bradley
2010 – Martin Kaymer
2009 – YE Yang
2008 – Padraig Harrington
2007 – Tiger Woods
2006 – Tiger Woods
2005 – Phil Mickelson
2004 – Vijay Singh
2003 – Shaun Micheel
2002 – Rich Beem
2001 – David Toms
2000 – Tiger Woods

5DimesLee Westwood (Odds to Win PGA Championship: 30 to 1 @ SportBet Sportsbook) has never won a major tournament in his career, and he hasn’t won a single event this year on the PGA Tour calendar, but he has done a remarkable job in these majors and is certainly due. In all three of the major tournaments this year, Westwood has finished tied for 15th or better, something that hardly anyone in the world can boast. Alas, Westwood is a bit scary right now after he finished 40th at the Bridgestone Invitational last week, but in typical Westy fashion, but he finished with very consistent rounds, shooting 71, 71, 71, 72 in his four days. The truth of the matter is if he is able to keep his score right in line with the rest of the pack early in this tournament, don’t be shocked if Westwood is right there come Sunday again. This is a man that just doesn’t beat himself up on the links, and though he rarely puts together that flashy round of 63, he is a consistent golfer who is always in the thick of the fight as well.

With one major under his belt already this year, Phil Mickelson (Odds to Win The PGA Championship: 13.50 to 1 @ SportBet Sportsbook) is going to have a shot to complete the career Grand Slam in this one. It’s really hard to ignore the man they call Lefty. He won the Open Championship in Scotland, he finished second at the US Open at Medinah, and though he stunk it up at the Masters, there is no taking away what he has been able to do elsewhere this year as well. Mickelson won the Waste Management Phoenix Open by shooting -28, he finished tied for third at the Cadillac Championship, he was third at the Wells Fargo Championship and then finished tied for second at the FedEx St. Jude Classic. A 21st place finish at last week’s Bridgestone Invitational wasn’t a bad outing either considering how difficult the course was. Could Mickelson find a way to capture this crown and finish that coveted career Grand Slam? We aren’t going to count Mickelson out, especially after that huge run he went on at the end of at the British Open just a few weeks ago when virtually everyone counted him out of the running.

John Deere ClassicThe last event on the PGA Tour schedule before the 2013 British Open takes place at the TPC Deere Run in Silvis, IL, as some of the best golfers in the world get one last tune up in at the John Deere Classic. There are a ton of tournaments that are relatively new on the PGA Golf schedule, but this one has been around since 1971, giving us plenty of data to work with. Check out our John Deere Classic picks for what should be a great event.

2013 John Deere Classic Predictions & Info
2013 John Deere Classic Dates: Thursday, July 11th – Sunday, July 14th, 2013
2013 John Deere Classic Location: TPC Deere Run, Silvis, IL
Defending John Deere Classic Winner: Zach Johnson
2013 John Deere Classic TV Coverage – Network: Golf Channel, CBS

Steve Stricker (Odds To Win 2013 John Deere Classic: 6.50 to 1 @ 5Dimes Sportsbook) has been absolutely insane at this tournament over the course of the last few years. Stricker shot a -16 last year in this tournament, and the only reason he didn’t win the event is because he shot a relatively terrible -1 on Sunday, losing five shots to the eventual winner on the day. Stricker also has wins in 2009, 2010, and 2011 here in Silvis, and there is no reason to think that he won’t be able to do something remarkable once again come Thursday. The only cause for concern would be that Stricker hasn’t won a tournament yet this year, but he does have a pair of second place finishes and has a total of four finishes of eighth or better in his seven starts. It’s not bad by any stretch of the imagination, and it makes you have to start and end with betting on Stricker at the John Deere Classic.

Not surprisingly, the man that bested Stricker last year, Zach Johnson (John Deere Classic Odds: 16 to 1 @ 5Dimes Sportsbook) is the second favorite on the odds to win the John Deere Classic. Johnson has had a good history playing in this even as well, and though last year was his first win, he always seems to play well on courses that play towards lower scores. Again, the issue that we have with Johnson is that he hasn’t won an event this year, and the only time that he finished in the Top 10 was when he finished third at the Crowne Plaza Invitational against a relatively weak field. This year’s field at the John Deere Classic is weak as well, as there aren’t that many golfers that want to play the week before flying over to the other side of the pond to take on a very tough and very different Muirfield course, but we don’t think that it is ultimately going to make Johnson the winner in at least one out of 16 tries at this tournament.

List Of Past John Deere Classic Winners (Since 2000)
2012 – Zach Johnson
2011 – Steve Stricker
2010 – Steve Stricker
2009 – Steve Stricker
2008 – Kenny Perry
2007 – Jonathan Byrd
2006 – John Senden
2005 – Sean O’Hair
2004 – Mark Hensby
2003 – Vijay Singh
2002 – JP Hayes
2001 – David Gossett
2000 – Michael Clark II

We’re going to go a bit off the board to find the next golfers that we are going to back. Last year, Troy Matteson (Odds To Win The John Deere Classic: 150 to 1 @ 5Dimes Sportsbook) lost at the John Deere Classic in a playoff. He’s back this time around, and he is going to be hoping for a much better performance than he has seen of late. Matteson has missed a ton of cuts this year, and though he has played in gobs of events, his best finish was a 16th place outing at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. Of course, we know that this could all change for Matteson now that he is on one of the easier golf courses on the PGA Tour, and if lightning can strike the same way that it did last year, you never know. There’s no way that we’re not taking 150 to 1 on a man that lost in a playoff on this very same course a season ago.

Just Bet Sports

And that’s why we want to back John Senden (John Deere Classic Lines: 45 to 1 @ 5Dimes Sportsbook) as well. Senden finished three shots off of the pace in the 2012 John Deere Classic, but the difference between him and Matteson is that at least he has played well in a few events this year. No, we haven’t seen Senden break through yet for a victory, but he has a lot of Top 25 finishes under his belt, including finishing 15th at the US Open. The conditions are significantly different this week at the John Deere Classic than they were at Medina at the US Open, so the scores are going to be a whole heck of a lot lower, but if Senden was able to put up such a good fight last year, we have to think that he will be able to do so once again this time around.

AT&T National GolfThe Tiger Woods Foundation is set to host its annual AT&T National at Congressional Country Club, the site of the 2011 US Open for PGA betting fanatics and aficionados alike. Try to beat the AT&T National betting odds with us here at Bankroll Sports, as we take a look at one of the more illustrious tournaments on the PGA Tour schedule!

Over the course of the last few years, a lot of the best golfers in the world played at Congressional, knowing that the US Open rolled through our nation’s capitol recently. However, the recent winners, Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy are both sitting this tournament out, leaving Adam Scott (Odds To Win 2013 AT&T National: 11.50 to 1 @ SportBet Sportsbook) to be the favorite of the AT&T National. Scott won the Masters this year, but he hasn’t had a Top 10 finish in three games since that point. He was atrocious two weeks ago at the US Open, finishing up at +15 without a single round better than 72. That’s why it’s a bit surprising to see Scott as the favorite on the golf odds this week, though if you look at the rest of the field, you’ll understand why.

2013 AT&T National Predictions & Info
2013 AT&T National Dates: Thursday, June 27th – Sunday, June 30th, 2013
2013 AT&T National Location: Congressional Country Club Blue Course, Bethesda, MD
Defending AT&T National Winner: Tiger Woods
2013 AT&T National TV Coverage – Network: Golf Channel, CBS

The most recent defending champion of this event that is going to be playing starting on Thursday is Nick Watney (AT&T National Odds: 50 to 1 @ SportBet Sportsbook). This isn’t a bad price that on a golfer that has a good history on this golf course, but the form that Watney is in has been terrible. He finished 95th, 116th, and 89th in his last three tournaments, missing the cut in all three tournaments. In fact, over the course of his last nine rounds, he hasn’t put together better than a 70, a number that he broke in six of his prior seven rounds before that point. Watney might be worth considering, but it’s going to take a huge turnaround from what we have seen of late to get him into the winner’s circle this week.

List Of Past AT&T National Winners (Since 2000)
2012 – Tiger Woods
2011 – Nick Watney
2010 – Justin Rose
2009 – Tiger Woods
2008 – Anthony Kim
2007 – KJ Choi

If you’re looking for someone in good form though, the man that you might want to back is Billy Horschel (Odds To Win The AT&T National: 22 to 1 @ SportBet Sportsbook). Very quietly, Horschel has had a great season. He won the Zurich Classic of New Orleans back in the end of April, and he has now logged back to back Top 10 finishes, including finishing tied for fourth at the US Open. This is a very similar type of course to the one at the FedEx St. Jude Classic which Horschel played the week before the US Open though, and he finished tied for 10th in that event. You wouldn’t normally place a bet on a golfer like Horschel, but we have to think that there is at least a 1 in 20 chance that he is going to walk away with the title against a field that is relatively weak in nature.

JustBet Golf

Hunter Mahan (AT&T National Lines: 17 to 1 @ SportBet Sportsbook) could be in for a nice week as well. He is the third favorite on the golf betting lines this week, and we actually recommended playing him in this tournament last year. He finished tied for eighth against a significantly better field on a course that played very tough that week. Of course, that’s nothing new for Mahan this year. He finished fourth at the US Open by shooting +5 at Meridian, and he followed that up last week by taking 24th at the Travelers Championship. Mahan continues to put together reasonable performance after reasonable performance, and though he hasn’t won this year, he has the disposition to finish things off this week and get that elusive win.

Knowing that there are only going to be 30 golfers in this event, this really is a test of the best of the best. If that’s the case, the man that we know that we are going to want on our side is Rory McIlroy (Odds To Win 2012 Tour Championship: 1.60 to 1 @ 5Dimes Sportsbook). The Northern Ireland native has had himself a heck of a year once again, including nailing down another major tournament at the PGA Championship, and now, he is going to hope to add a FedEx Cup title to that. McIlroy has won each of the last two events here at the FedEx Cup, and he has done so in tremendously impressive fashion. It’s awfully difficult, even with just 30 golfers in the field, to take anyone at +160, but if there were a man that you would want to do it with, McIlroy would be the man to do so.

It almost feels odd to be counting odd Tiger Woods (Tour Championship Odds: 3.50 to 1 @ 5Dimes Sportsbook), though. Oh sure, we certainly aren’t going to be writing Tiger off in any event imaginable, especially knowing that seemingly every week he is becoming more and more relevant of a golfer once again. Woods has played well for sure here in the FedEx Cup, and he is rightfully ranked No. 2 coming into play this weekend, knowing that a win and he will be the winner of the playoffs. We know that winning golf’s version of the playoffs isn’t quite as illustrious as a major title, but it would go a long way in getting Tiger back in the swing of things, which would make him a massive threat going forward into the 2013 season. Woods won the Tour Championship in 2007 and in 1999, and he is going to be joining Phil Mickelson as the only active two-time winner of this event that will be in this field.

List Of Past Tour Championship Winners (Since 2000)

2009 – Phil Mickelson
2008 – Camilo Villegas
2007 – Tiger Woods
2006 – Adam Scott
2005 – Bart Bryant
2004 – Retief Goosen
2003 – Chad Campbell
2002 – Vijay Singh
2001 – Mike Weir
2000 – Phil Mickelson

This could also be the year in which Nick Watney (Odds To Win The Tour Championship: 35 to 1 @ 5Dimes Sportsbook) shines. Watney already has a win in the first of the major FedEx Cup events this year, and though he is coming from off the pace in third, he still is going to be a threat to win the Tour Championship. We have seen plenty of golfers in the past parlay great starts to the FedEx Cup into great finishes as well, and that might be just what we see for Watney, a man who always seems to be coming up just short of the ultimate prizes that golf has to offer.

Since last year’s champ, Bill Haas isn’t going to be in the field, we’re going to watch out for Brandt Snedeker (Tour Championship Lines: 18 to 1 @ 5Dimes Sportsbook) instead. This is the last of the five men that have the chance to be able to win the FedEx Cup with no questions asked if he can win this tournament, and he just barely snuck into that Top 5. The way that things are going for him of late though, this might be a real possibility. He’ll be on the Ryder Cup team for the first time next week, and he has to be excited about playing for the Stars and Stripes. This could be just the momentum boost that the American needs to get ready for the Ryder Cup, and a FedEx Cup title with a win at the Tour Championship isn’t out of the question.
