November 12th, 2014 by Chad A. Dawkins | Posted in College Football   Comments Off on 2014 NCAA Week 12 Line Breakdown

Week 12 of the 2014 college football season is upon us. Here are some of the marquee matchups and the lines for the upcoming weekend of action, courtesy of JustBet Sportsbook. All NCAA football bettors and sports fans will get their fill of quality action this weekend as there are quite a few interesting matchups on tap in the SEC, and PAC-12, and Big Ten conferences. All times Eastern.

Thursday, November 13

California at USC (-15, 72) 9:00 PM ESPN

The California Golden Bears and the USC Trojans take the field on Thursday night for a PAC-12 conference clash. The Trojans pasted the Golden Bears last season 62-28, yet California is much improved this season, so you know the Golden Bears will be looking for some payback.

Saturday, November 15

#8 Ohio State (-12. 59.5), at Minnesota 12:00 PM ABC

The Ohio State Buckeyes had a tremendous win last Saturday night defeating the Michigan State Spartans 49-37. They’ll look to build upon that victory when they host the Minnesota Golden Gophers. The Gophers had a big win in their own right, as they smashed the Iowa Hawkeyes 51-14.

#19 Clemson (-3, 60.5) at #22 Georgia Tech 12:00 PM ESPN

The Clemson Tigers avoided a scare last Thursday night when they defeated the Wake Forest Demon Deacons 34-20. They’ll take on the #24 ranked Georgia tech Yellow Jackets, who have been on a roll winning 3 straight games by an average of 28 points.

#1 Mississippi State at #5 Alabama (-8.5, 51.5) 3:30 PM CBS

The marquee game of week 12 will be the top ranked Mississippi State Bulldogs traveling to Tuscaloosa to take on the the #5 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide, who got a big win at LSU in overtime 20-13. The Bulldogs had somewhat of a scrimmage last Saturday, downing Presbyterian 48-0.

#16 Nebraska at #20 Wisconsin (-6, 57) 3:30 PM ABC

In what could be one of the better games of week 12, the #16 ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers take on the #20 ranked Wisconsin Badgers. The game will feature the two top running backs in the country, Nebraska’s Amir Abdullah and Wisconsin’s Melvin Gordon.

#17 Utah at Stanford (-7.5, 43.5) 6:00 PM Pac-12 Network

If you like hard-nosed, smash mouth football, you might want to tune in to the PAC-12 Network at 6 pm when two of the more physical teams in the PAC-12 take the field. The Utah Utes take on the Stanford Cardinal in a game that feature two teams that run the ball well and play good defense.

#9 Auburn at #15 Georgia (-2, 68.5) 7:15 PM ESPN

The Auburn Tigers will look to rebound off a tough 41-38 loss to Texas A&M and it won’t be easy as they take on the Georgia Bulldogs in the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry. Todd Gurley is expected to be back for Georgia after a suspension, and they will need him to keep up with the explosive Auburn running game.

#3 Florida State (-1, 62) at Miami (FL) 8:00 PM ABC

All eyes will be on Miami, Florida on Saturday night when the Florida State Seminoles take on the Miami Hurricanes in a big ACC conference matchup. The Seminoles may be on upset alert, as the Hurricanes are playing their best football and have won their last 3 games by an average of 24 points.

#6 Arizona State (-9, 62) at Oregon State 10:45 PM ESPN

Arizona State will look to avoid a letdown when they travel to Oregon to take on the Oregon State Beavers. The Sun Devils got a huge win defeating the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 55-34. They’ll take on the Beavers, who are coming off a 39-32 home loss to Washington State.

The Complete List of Week 10 College Football Lines Can Be Found Below

Below you will find all the current week 10 2013 College Football lines for the upcoming weekend of action.  All the NCAA football bettors and sports fans will get their fill of quality action this weekend as there is one conference matchup between two teams in the top 10 with huge BCS implications. There are also a couple of key conference tilts in the Big 10, PAC 12, and Big 12 conferences that will get plenty of attention from the betting public.

Week 10 College Football Lines For Friday, November 1, 2013

USC at Oregon St (-5) @ 9:00 pm EST
The USC Trojans will head to Corvallis, Oregon to take on the Oregon State Beavers in a Friday night PAC-12 clash. The Trojans are off an impressive win against Utah, while the Beavers are off a home loss against Stanford. Oregon St is currently a 5 point favorite receiving 95% of the action. The key matchup in this one is the USC defense  against the nations leading passer, Sean Mannion. This game should receive a good amount of action being the only football game on Friday.

Week 10 College Football Lines  Saturday, November 2, 2013

Mississippi St at #16 South Carolina (-13) @ 12:21 pm EST
South Carolina, is coming off a big win at previously unbeaten Missouri, will host Mississippi St in an SEC tilt. Mississippi St escaped with a win last week against SEC bottom feeder Kentucky, and will definitely have to be on their ‘A’ game if they want to hang with the Gamecocks. Mississippi St almost upset the Gamecocks last year, so it will be a challenge for Steve Spurrier’s squad to avoid a letdown after such a big win.

#21 Michigan at #24 Michigan St. (-4.5) @ 3:30 pm EST
The interstate rivalry will take place in a key Big 10 matchup, as the Michigan Wolverines travel to East Lansing to take on the Michigan St Spartans. Oddsmakers have made the Spartans a 4.5 point favorite. Last years game was a low scoring affair in Ann Arbor, as the Wolverines escaped with a 12-10 win. Michigan will be looking to take sole possession of 1st place in the Big 10 legends division.

West Virginia at TCU (-13.5) @ 3:30 pm EST
A matchup of two 3-5 teams will meet in Forth Worth, Texas as the West Virginia Mountaineers face the TCU Horned Frogs. The TCU Horned Frogs have been somewhat of a disappointment this year, and at times, it’s looked like West Virginia has overachieved at times. When these two teams met up last year, TCU won 39-38 in one of the more entertaining games of the year. This year, West Virginia has beaten Oklahoma St outright, and been competitive against Oklahoma and Texas Tech. This one should be interesting.

Georgia (-2.5) at Florida @ 3:30 pm EST Everbank Field, Jacksonville, FL
Who would have thought these two teams would be out of the top 25 at this point in the season? Regardless of the standings, it is certain that the “World’s Largest Cocktail Party” will garner a lot of betting action on Saturday. Georgia RB Todd Gurley is aiming for a return in this one after an extended absence. Georgia won this contest last year 17-9.

#18 Oklahoma St at #15 Texas Tech (-2) @ 4:00 pm EST
The Texas Tech Red Raiders will be looking to rebound after suffering their first loss of the season at the hands of Oklahoma. The Red Raiders are 2 point favorites hosting the Oklahoma St. Cowboys in Lubbock, Texas. The Cowboys are rolling as of late, winning 3 straight against Kansas St, TCU, and Iowa St. The Red Raiders will be looking for revenge, as they were throttled in Stillwater last year, 59-21.

#11 Auburn (-9) at Arkansas @ 6:00 pm EST
The Auburn Tigers will be traveling to Fayetteville to face the Arkansas Razorbacks in an SEC matchup. The Razorbacks are currently a 9 point home underdog. Auburn avoided the letdown bug by taking care of business against FAU. Two SEC road games are on for the Tigers, as they travel to Fayetteville this week, and head to Tennessee next week.

Tennessee at #9 Missouri (-11) @ 7:00 pm EST
Two SEC teams will be looking to get back in the win column, as the Tennessee Volunteers travel to Columbia, to face the Missouri Tigers. Missouri’s dreams of an undefeated came crashing down last week, losing in overtime to South Carolina. Tennessee suffered the same outcome, however, their loss wasn’t as close, getting blasted 35-10 to #1 Alabama. Missouri, favored by 11, won at Tennessee last year in a wild one, 51-48, so Tennessee will be looking even the score.

#7 Miami FL at #3 Florida St (-22) @ 8:00 pm EST
Two unbeaten teams meet up in an ACC matchup with big time BCS implications. It’s pretty significant that the top 2 teams out of the state of Florida do not involve an SEC team. To say Florida St hasn’t been impressive is an understatement. Florida St is a 22 point favorite, and is getting about 51% of tickets at this point. Florida St was passed up in BCS standings by Oregon last week, so style points will most certainly be in play. Miami has squeaked out their last 2 wins against North Carolina, and Wake Forest respectively. Emotions will without a doubt be running high in this one. Florida St has dominated every opponent for the most part this year for the most part, while Miami has somewhat played down to it’s competition as of late.

Check The Bottom of the Post For Listing of Week 9 NCAA Football Lines

Below you will find all the current week 9 college football Missouri's Week 9 Lineslines for the upcoming weekend of action.  All the NCAA football bettors and sports fans will get their fill of quality action this weekend as there is a huge slate of televised college football matchups featuring several BCS top 25 programs.  With eight major conference teams still presently undefeated and almost of them with scheduled conference games, we are bound to see a big upset this weekend, causing the newly posted BCS rankings get shaken up after one week.  Some of the the big matchups that the sports betting public will likely be focusing in on this Saturday include the undefeated squads in the BCS top 5-10.

Wake Forest will head down to Florida to take on the undefeated #7 Miami Hurricanes.  The oddsmakers don’t expect much of a contest in this one.  The Demon Deacons are listed as a big 23.5 point road underdog in this noon (EST) game against the red hot Miami Hurricanes; who somehow escaped the wrath of the NCAA punishment squad this week.

At 3:30pm (EST), the newest Heisman odds favorite, Jameis Winston and his #2 BCS ranked, Florida State Seminoles, fresh off their big road win at Clemson last week, will play host to the Wolfpack of NC State.  Bettors who want to put their cash on the sensational freshman quarterback will have have a fun time laying 30+ points in a conference game.

In a massive SEC evening showdown at 7:00pm ET, the #20 South Carolina Gamecocks will head to Columbia, Missouri to take on the unbeaten & #5 ranked, Tigers.  This may be, arguably, the best game on the board, and SEC haters will have to watch another week of college football where one of the top two or three games on the day will be between SEC squads. Despite the big discrepancy in the two program’s rankings, the sportsbooks only have the undefeated Missouri Tigers listed as less than a field goal favorite at home against Steve Spurrier’s Gamecocks.  The state of Missouri also has a lot to cheer about lately, as the Kansas City Cheifs are 7-0 and the St. Louis Cardinals head to the World Series against the Boston Red Sox, starting on Wednesday, 10/23 (Check out the World Series Odds for this week).  We think all the excitement in the air may take the pressure off the Tigers on Saturday evening.

In an always riveting Big Ten contest, the Penn State Nittany Lions will travel to Columbus to take their shots at the #4 ranked, and undefeated Ohio State Buckeyes.  Ohio State bettors will be laying more than two touchdowns of chalk in this one.  The Braxton Miller led Buckeyes are listed as 14.5 point favorites at the Horseshoe.

The week 9 NCAA football lines also feature some fantastic matchups taking place out west this Saturday.  On Saturday night at 7:00pm ET, the one-loss UCLA Bruins will shoot up to Eugene to try and slow down the high octane Oregon offense.  Jim Mora’s Bruins face a very tough task as the unbeaten Ducks are averaging over 55 points a game this season.  The #3 ranked Ducks and the always spirited Autzen Stadium crowd will also be playing host to ESPN’s flagship program, College Gameday (as if UCLA’s defense wasn’t dreading this one already).

While all of the college football fans on the East Coast will have their focus on the BCS’s unbeaten squads, Saturday’s most exciting game to bet on & watch may actually feature two one-loss programs and have a late 10:30pm ET kickoff.  In what will likely be the most competitive game of the day, the very tenacious #6 Stanford Cardinals will visit Mike Riley’s confident Oregon State running attack.  The 5-1 Beavers are 4-0 in the Pac 12 this year.

Make sure to take a look at the complete list of NCAA football matchup and the full sheet of week 9 college football odds found below. Marquette BasketballOur 2013 NCAA Tournament predictions continue on Thursday, March 28th with the Sweet 16. Join us as the #3 Marquette Golden Eagles and the #2 Miami Hurricanes go to war in what should be a remarkable opening game of the fourth round of the NCAA Tournament.

March Madness: Marquette Golden Eagles vs. Miami Hurricanes
Marquette vs. Miami Location: Verizon Center, Washington DC
Marquette vs. Miami Date/Time: Thursday, March 28th, 7:15 p.m. (ET)
2013 March Madness On TV: CBS

Key #1: Someone aside from Vander Blue has to step up for the Golden Eagles
Marquette seems like it is a team that has nine lives right now. The squad was down and out in the first round of the dance against the Davidson Wildcats, and it was F Vander Blue that hit the shot that ended up keeping the team alive for another day. Blue came up in a big time way again in the third round for the Golden Eagles against the Butler Bulldogs, scoring 29 points against a tremendously stingy defense. However, against Miami, someone aside from just Blue is going to have to bring something to the table to advance. The rest of the team is only averaging 14.5 field goals per game here in the NCAA Tournament, and the club is shooting just .354 from the field. That really isn’t going to come closing to cutting it. This really isn’t a team that hits all that many shots from the outside either. Blue has five three-point shots made in two games. The rest of the Golden Eagles have just four for the tournament. Whether it be F Davante Gardner, F Jamil Wilson, G Junior Cadougan, or any of the other Golden Eagles, someone is going to have to step up and help out Blue if they are going to beat the best team that they have faced in this tournament to date.

Key #2: The Hurricanes need to take advantage of a smaller Marquette front line
Miami has a huge edge against most teams in terms of their size and their depth on the inside. The combination of C Reggie Johnson, F Julian Gamble, and F Kenny Kadji should be able to rip down at least 20 boards virtually every single night, especially against teams that are just far too small to keep up with them. Update: Johnson is out of the lineup for the Hurricanes with a knee injury. However, the Illinois Fighting Illini, a team that doesn’t have a single rebounder averaging five boards per game this year, actually outrebounded the Hurricanes 36-33 on Sunday in the Round of 32, and that isn’t going to cut it in this one. Miami would have probably been beaten in that game if not for the fact that G Brandon Paul and G DJ Richardson combined to shoot just 3-of-19 from beyond the arc. The key is going to have to be on the glass here against Marquette. These Golden Eagles are undersized, and there isn’t a big time rebounder on the team. There is no excuse whatsoever for the Canes to not win the battle on the boards, and if they don’t, they could be knocked out of this tournament.

Key #3: Buzz Williams has to do a good job managing the game
Head Coach Buzz Williams is truly a tremendously underrated coach. This is a man that took a Marquette team that was picked to finish in the middle of the Big East this season and made it the regular season co-champs and ultimately a No. 3 seed in the dance. We know that Williams pushed a lot of the right buttons down the stretch in both of the first two games of this tournament, and we know that he is going to have to push the right ones again in this one. Miami has the superior athleticism, and as a result, it is going to make its runs. The question is going to be how Marquette handles those runs. Timeout usage is going to be key for the full 40 minutes, as will substitution patterns. The Hurricanes can handle any style that Marquette will throw their way, and Williams is going to have to mix it up, find the right combination of guys, and ultimately take advantage of whatever opportunities the Hurricanes give him if there is any hope of getting into the Elite Eight.

Stephen Morris Over/Under 18 Completions
Head Coach Al Golden has never been known as a passing coach, and now that he has a backup quarterback in the fold, that probably will remain the case. Morris is as green as could be, and we just think, especially without WR Leonard Hankerson any longer, that the training wheels are going to be kept on him, especially against a Maryland defense that often excelled in the secondary a season ago. Morris Under 18 Passing Completions (-120 at BoDog Sportsbook)

Danny O’Brien Over/Under 264.5 Passing Yards
In what should be a relatively low scoring game, we’re a bit puzzled as to why the oddsmakers have installed O’Brien’s passing total so high. O’Brien only threw for more than 250 yards four times all of last season, including going just 9-of-28 for 134 yards against this Hurricanes defense last season. There’s just no way that we see this prop losing all that often. Even at the added juice, this is a nice play. O’Brien Under 264.5 Passing Yards (-135 at BoDog Sportsbook)

2011-12 Top 25 College Football Games of the Year
#15 Miami Hurricanes @ Virginia Tech Hokies

The ACC Coastal Division is always one that is tightly contested, and this year should be no exception whatsoever. The Hokies are going to be one of the top teams in the land once again this year, but the Hurricanes, under first year coach Al Golden, are going to be looking to make an impression by taking them to their first conference championship game since joining the ACC.

Miami Hurricanes @ Virginia Tech Hokies Picks & Info
Miami Hurricanes @ Virginia Tech Hokies Date: Saturday, October 8th
Miami Hurricanes @ Virginia Tech Hokies Location: Layne Stadium, Blacksburg, VA
Miami Hurricanes @ Virginia Tech Hokies Spread: Virginia Tech Hokies -6

The Hurricanes are really under the gun in this one. QB Jacory Harris knows that he needs to really get his act in gear against a Virginia Tech team that has dominated him over the years. Harris threw for 1,793 yards and 14 TDs last season against 15 picks. However, there is a real question whether or not Stephen Morris will end up taking over. Harris has the experience, but Morris has the better skills in all likelihood even though his numbers were worse with 1,240 yards and seven scores in 2010. The cupboard isn’t totally dry in South Beach this year, but things definitely aren’t as good as they have been in the past. This trip to Layne Stadium is going to be tough, but the good news is that the team did go 4-2 SU and 3-3 ATS as visitors this year, so the upset in this one isn’t out of the question.

Miami Hurricanes vs. Virginia Tech Hokies Past Games (Since 1995)
2010: Virginia Tech 31 – Miami 17
2009: Virginia Tech 31 – Miami 7
2008: Miami 16 – Virginia Tech 14
2007: Virginia Tech 44 – Miami 14
2006: Virginia Tech 17 – Miami 10
2005: Miami 27 – Virginia Tech 7
2004: Virginia Tech 16 – Miami 10
2003: Virginia Tech 31 – Miami 7
2002: Miami 56 – Virginia Tech 45
2001: Miami 26 – Virginia Tech 24
2000: Miami 41 – Virginia Tech 21
1999: Virginia Tech 43 – Miami 10
1998: Virginia Tech 27 – Miami 20
1997: Virginia Tech 27 – Miami 25
1996: Virginia Tech 21 – Miami 7
1995: Virginia Tech 13 – Miami 7

As one could tell just by looking at the scores in this series, Head Coach Frank Beamer has consistently put together a defense that has been able to stuff up the Canes. This year should be no exception, as VT is coming off of a season in which it allowed just 20.6 points per game a season ago. Offensively, QB Tyrod Taylor has moved on, and over the last several seasons, there haven’t been many other players take snaps. Taylor threw 24 TDs against five picks, numbers which are going to be hard for QB Logan Thomas. Last season’s loss to the James Madison Dukes was the end of a disastrous stretch of games, but since that point, Beamer Ball has taken over again and the Hokies have been remarkable. The hope is that that keeps up to get them back into the ACC Championship Game once again.

2011-12 Top 25 College Football Games of the Year
#20 Miami Hurricanes vs. Florida State Seminoles

Even when the Florida State Seminoles and the Miami Hurricanes didn’t share the ACC together, their annual rivalry was always one to be remembered, and it was a game that had a ton of bowl game and National Championship implications. This year could be no exception, as both teams have their sights set on not just bragging rights in the Sunshine State, but in the ACC as well.

Miami Hurricanes @ Florida State Seminoles Picks & Info
Miami Hurricanes @ Florida State Seminoles Date: Saturday, November 12th, 2011
Miami Hurricanes @ Florida State Seminoles Location: Bobby Bowden Field at Doak Campbell Stadium, Tallahassee, FL
Miami Hurricanes @ Florida State Seminoles Spread: Florida State Seminoles -8

The Canes could be in some trouble in this duel if QB Jacory Harris doesn’t play better than he historically has in this series. Yes, he did manage to pull off the upset in Tallahassee two years ago on Labor Day night to kick off the season, but he really needs to get on his high horse this year to make sure that he can pick up the slack for an offense that really is lacking a lot of star power. This is going to be the first taste for Head Coach Al Golden in this series, and he could be in for quite a rude awakening, especially if he defense, which was ranked No. 21 in the country last year, struggles.

Miami Hurricanes vs. Florida State Seminoles Past Games (Since 1995)
2010: Florida State 45 – Miami 17
2009: Miami 38 – Florida State 34
2008: Florida State 41 – Miami 39
2007: Miami 37 – Florida State 29
2006: Florida State 13 – Miami 10
2005: Florida State 10 – Miami 7
2004: Miami 16 – Florida State 10
2004 (Orange Bowl): Miami 16 – Florida State 14
2003: Miami 22 – Florida State 14
2002: Miami 28 – Florida State 27
2001: Miami 49 – Florida State 27
2000: Miami 27 – Florida State 24
1999: Florida State 31 – Miami 21
1998: Florida State 26 – Miami 14
1997: Florida State 47 – Miami 0
1996: Florida State 34 – Miami 16

The Noles have had to suffer a ton of catastrophic losses at the hands of the Hurricanes. Kickers have had nightmares about last second field goals in Tallahassee for well over a decade, and only recently, has Florida State really gotten its footing back in this series. Of course, there is only one win against the Canes at the Doak since 1999, and that was on Labor day 2005 in an ugly 10-7 win. Of course, Head Coach Jimbo Fisher made a great impression last year on this series, winning 45-17 down in South Beach. This one is a heck of a lot later in the season than it normally is, making the stakes even higher. However, this should be an advantage to FSU, knowing that QB EJ Manuel, assuming that he stays healthy, will have a ton of games under his belt and should be accustomed to being the man of the hour for the garnet and gold.
