You suck Plaxico. You shouldn't of had a weapon at all. Although I am an Eagles fan, I have to state my opinion, they should get rid of him. There were also some players on that team that are going through some problems with their own without having the media on their case 24/7. I am a 13 year old girl who is a die hard Eagles fan and I am here commenting on what a grown man should already know. Although I am an Eagles fan, I could not help but comment on what an impact a player like Plaxico can have on the sport. Don't get it twisted, I am commenting on behalf of the sport. "GO EAGLES!!!"

I feel that this is a stupid situation to be in. I am a die hard giants fan been a fan thru good and bad. We the fans help pay these athletes to play a game for our entertainment. They inturn become rolemodels for us aswell as our children. If you are getting paid millions of dollars to play keyword being play. Then the least you can do is keep your name away from bad publicity. Yes what he did was wrong but had the weapon not discharged nobody would have even bothered to make a big deal of the situation because nobody would have know that he had a weapon on him. Yes we should keep him he is a very talented athlete, yes we should get rid of him if he is going to bring the franchise bad publicity. In the end the players have to realize that there are others with just as much talent if not more that can replace you and keep their names from reaching the media for bad reasons. Thank you for taking the time to read my ranting but hey I am a fan and love the sport the good and the bad.

I agree that athletes have to watch themselves while they're out. However, they also have to abide by the laws of the land. So far, it appears that Plaxico is not able to do so. It is a wait and see kind of thing, but I would have to have some kind of renewed commitment signed by Plaxico that he stay out of trouble.

The Giants have a very difficult decision to make. I would imagine this situation won't be made until it is more clear as to whether or not Burress is facing jail time. I am by no means a Giants fan but if I were there is no question how much his absence cost the Giants towards the end of the season. The way I see it is that athletes have a big target on their back. We saw what has happened recently in the Chicago area with Mendenhall and Eddie Curry and Antoine Walker, people that have no out in life see them and want to be them and sometimes take them for their jewelry or cash. With that being said I can understand why a millionaire athlete would want to carry a weapon to protect himself. However, each time you step out into a night club you put yourself and team at risk. We all no nothing good comes from this. If I were the Giants this would be a wait an see situation. If he potentially will be a distraction for their team he must go, if not you have to keep him because it is tough to replace his size in the red zone.
