UFC 134 Main Event: Anderson Silva vs. Yushin Okami
UFC 134 Live TV Coverage – Network: Pay-Per-View

The Middleweight Championship will be on the line on Saturday night when Brazilian Anderson Silva essentially plays host to a stingy challenger, Yushin Okami. Okami is 26-5 in his MMA career, and he has really come through a tough set of middleweights to reach this fight. The Japanese wonder took care of Mark Munoz and Nate Marquardt in back to back fights, the latter of which was one of the best fights in UFC 122. Okami has never challenged for a belt like this in his career, and he certainly has his work cut out for him.

Okami actually does have a win in his career against Silva back in 2006 in Honolulu, but the win came via DQ. Silva hasn’t lost a fight since that point (14-0), and he has been the Middleweight champ since taking the belt from Rich Franklin in October 2006. Only two of his fights have even gone the distance in this stretch, and both ended in unanimous decisions in favor of the champ.

The undercard, to no surprise, features a slew of Brazilians that will have the crowd on their side against others. Americans Forrest Griffin and Brendan Schaub will have their work cut out for them against Mauricio Rua and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira respectively.

The Rua fight is of particular note, knowing that he is badly trying to get back on top in the Light Heavyweight Division after losing two of his last three fights and ceding his belt to Jon Jones. Griffin already has one win in his career against Rua, coming via a rear naked choke submission back in 2007. Griffin has fought some of the best in the business in his time, beating the likes of Tito Ortiz, Rich Franklin, Rua, and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. Don’t be shocked if he pulls off another big victory in this one in Brazil.

This Saturday night is fight night at the Wells Fargo Center in the City of Brotherly Love, and we have some of the best MMA picks in the world as we dissect the UFC 133 live odds!

2011 UFC 133, Picks & Info
UFC 133 Date: Saturday, August 6th, 2011, 9:00 ET
UFC 133 Location: Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, PA
UFC 133 Main Event: Rashad Evans vs. Tito Ortiz
UFC 133 Live TV Coverage – Network: Pay-Per-View

Making UFC 133 picks is going to be quite interesting in the bout between Rashad Evans and Tito Ortiz. This is actually the third different fighter that Evans was scheduled to go up against in this bout, as both Jon Jones and Phil Davis pulled out of it previously. Ortiz fought Ryan Bader in a match that might have saved his career at the most recent UFC event, winning in just 1:56 with a guillotine choke, stopping a five match winless streak. Still, Evans is the hefty choice of the oddsmakers thanks to his pristine 15-1-1 mark. These two have already fought once in their careers back in 2007 at UFC 73, but that fight went to a draw. Now, with the form that both are in, it’s hard to see how Ortiz is even going to last the distance in this one, let alone be able to put up a fight for the ‘W’.

In the undercard, there are a number of other fantastic fights. The signature bout of the bunch is between Brazilian Vitor Belfort and Japanese native Yoshihiro Akiyama. Belfort just lost his chance at the UFC Middleweight Championship in February against Anderson Silva, a fight in which he was a heavy underdog, and now, he is going to hope to get back in the saddle in a very winnable fight. Akiyama has had three straight fantastic fights dating back to July 2009, all of which have gone near the distance. A loss by unanimous decision against Michael Bisping in the highlight fight of UFC 120 really set him back, and he is expected to struggle in this fight as well after back to back losses.

Veteran Dennis Hallman has already had a whopping 56 fights in his career, but he is going to be the less experience of the two fighters in his bout with Brian Ebersole in the welterweight division. Ebersole has never been knocked out in his career, a streak that will probably continue against a man who has only posted five knockouts in his career. This is only the second fight in UFC for Ebersole, who beat Chris Lytle at UFC 127 back in February via unanimous decision.

It’s not often that you see the country of Cyprus represented in a predominantly American sporting event, but that’s the case with Constantinos Philippou, who will be taking on Jorge Rivera. Rivera is definitely the favored of these two fighters on the UFC 133 odds, as this is only the second fight for Philippou at the UFC level. Philippou had won seven straight fights (with one no contest as well) before losing to Nick Catone at UFC 128 in March, and now, he has to go up against Rivera, who has a rock solid 7-3 mark in his 10 fights in UFC. His most recent loss against Michael Bisping at UFC 127 probably cost him a chance at moving up the ladder in the middleweight division.

Finally, Canadian Rory MacDonald will look to do his homeland proud when he faces off with American Mike Pyle in a welterweight bout. This is definitely not a fight with the same type of pomp and circumstance as the Evans/Ortiz fight, but it is definitely one to watch out for. Both Pyle and MacDonald have a legitimate chance of being in line for the welterweight championship in the near future, especially with the sparkling 11-1 career mark of MacDonald’s in the balance in this one. Pyle is no slack though at 21-7-1, especially knowing that he has taken care of Jesse Lennox, John Hathaway, and Ricardo Almeida in three straight fights leading up to this one.

Shane Mosley vs. Manny Pacquiao Odds, Free Picks, and Predictions

Boxing betting fans everywhere absolutely cannot wait for the Saturday night fight between “Sugar” Shane Mosley and Manny “Pac Man” Pacquiao, as these two are amongst the best fighters in the world. We have our Mosley vs. Pacquiao picks all set to go for the big time brawl at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday night!

Pacquiao is largely considered the best pound for pound boxer in the entire world right now, and at 53-3-2 with 38 KOs, it’s really hard to argue with that point. The last time that Pac-Man was beaten was in 2005 by Erik Morales right here at the MGM Grand. Since that point, he has captured and retained the WBC Super Featherweight International Title, the Super Featherweight World Title, the WBC Lightweight World Title, the IBO and “The Ring” Light Welterweight World Titles, the WBO Welterweight World Title, the WBC Diamond Belt, and the WBC Super Welterweight World Title. The WBO Welterweight World Title is what is on the line in this event.

Needless to say though, no one is expecting Pacquiao to really struggle with this fight. He has had to go the full 12 rounds against each of his last three opponents since knocking out Ricky Hatton in the second round in May 2009, almost two years ago to the date of this fight with Mosley. However, he beat Miguel Angel Cotto on TKO and took care of both Joshua Clottey and Antonio Margarito without much in the way of a hassle with a unanimous decision.

This very well could be the last fight of Shane Mosley’s career. Since taking care of Margarito in January 2009, Mosley hasn’t won a match. In fairness, he has fought Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Sergio Mora in that stretch, fights which certainly haven’t been all that easy. Mayweather Jr. beat Mosley by unanimous decision right here at the MGM Grand last year, which wasn’t a huge surprise, but the split decision draw against Mora was more of a shock.

Mosley, at 39 years old, clearly isn’t the same boxer that he once was. In fact, since starting his career at 38-0 through 2001, he has been beaten six times and had a draw and a no contest. Now, with arguably the best boxer on the face of the earth waiting in the opposite ring corner, we really don’t see how this fight is going to end up being all that close. Mosley has never been knocked out in his career, and he has never had a fight not go the distance that didn’t end in his victory, but this might be the exception to the rule, as this is probably the hardest fight of his career.

Complete List of UFC 127 Odds Can Be Found Below

UFC is back with its third Pay-Per-View of the calendar year on February 26th, 2011, as some of the best fighters in the world duke it out in the octagon. We here at Bankroll Sports are your one stop shop for all things related to the UFC 127 odds, including making our UFC 127 picks for all of the fights on the card.

After a sequence of fights on the prelim card, the middleweight division will take center stage, as Chris Camozzi takes on Kyle Noke. Both of these fighters have an excellent track record, and we feel as though they are relatively evenly matched. This is going to be a real showcase for both men, as neither has all that much experience at the UFC level. Noke came from Elite XC, while Camozzi, only fighting in the second Pay-Per-View in his career, spent most of his time in the Maximum Fighting Championship. Don’t be shocked if this tight fight goes the distance, and if that’s the case, we’ll take our chances with Camozzi on the UFC odds at +160.

The second fight of the night is going to be a welterweight duel between Chris Lytle and Brian Ebersole. Ebersole wasn’t the man that was supposed to be in this fight. Instead, he is replacing Carlos Condit, who suffered a knee injury. This is now a huge scene for Ebersole, who is clearly just being shoved into this fight as a promotion. He is 46-14-1-1 in his career, but isn’t expected to make any sort of an impact. Instead, everyone is expecting to see Lytle end up just making short work in this battle, taking advantage of his time fighting on the main stage in a Pay-Per-View. The UFC 127 lines for this duel only came up recently, as Ebersole was only placed into the match in the middle of February. As expected, Ebersole is a huge underdog at +230 and will most likely end up getting beaten.

The hometown hero of this entire night will be George Sotiropoulos. The Aussie has already won once here in Sydney before, picking up a ‘W’ in UFC 110. There’s no doubt that Dennis Siver is going to provide him with a heck of a challenge, but when push really comes to shove, there is nothing that we think that the man from down under can’t do in this Lightweight battle. We have to lay -320 to get the Aussie on our side, but that’s exactly what we recommend doing for your UFC picks.

From there, it’ll be back to the middleweights, as Michael Bisping looks to avoid getting upset by Jorge Rivera. Rivera is now 38 years old and really might not be able to make it around the ring like he used to. He has been scrapped on several UFC fights in the past, most notably UFC 118 and UFC 122. However, he’s back now at UFC 127 off of arguably the best fight of his career, a TKO victory over Nate Quarry. Rivera is only 7-5 in the UFC though, and he only has an 18-7 record overall. Bisping has headlined all sorts of Pay-Per-Views in his career, including in UFC 120 when he beat Yoshihiro Akiyama by unanimous decision in the headline fight of the night in London. The Englishman will be too tough to top here, as he’ll have the quicker wits about him to take down Rivera. Lay the chalk on the UFC lines at -350.

Finally, in the main fight of the night, BJ Penn will look to get back on top of the welterweight division when he takes on Jon Fitch. It seems like it has been forever since Penn was the holder of the Welterweight Title, but he clearly knows what it takes to get to the top. Both of these men have been halted by Georges St. Pierre in the past, as they both have had their attempts at claiming glory in the Welterweight division. It seems peculiar to us that Fitch is such a big favorite on the UFC 127 betting lines though, as he hasn’t had a match go his way via submission since 2007. Don’t be surprised if we see an upset on Saturday, as Penn could get the job done at a lofty price of +160.
