The new favorite to win the Belmont Stakes is Dullahan (Odds To Win Belmont Stakes: 33 to 20 at Bovada Sportsbook). We are really all the more confident about what Dullahan can bring to the table in this one, because we know that he is going to be able to provide what should be awesome kick at the end of this race and won’t have to deal with I’ll Have Another also taking one last tremendous push. Remember that Dullahan finished third in the Kentucky Derby, and he was the one horse that really ended up having a shot at getting up to the leaders, I’ll Have Another and Bodemeister at the end of that race. This is a horse that has taken some time off since the Derby and should be fresh, and he is a colt that we definitely are going to want to back on Saturday night.

There once were another 13 or 14 horses that were expected to take aim at I’ll Have Another in the third leg of the Triple Crown. Instead, horses like Bodemeister and Mark Valeski are sitting this race out. That really could open up the door for a few horses that ran in the Kentucky Derby and not in the Preakness Stakes. One of the horses that was amongst the favorites to win the Kentucky Derby will be back. Union Rags (2012 Belmont Stakes Race Odds: 5 to 2 at Bovada Sportsbook) is expected to have Julien LeParoux onboard once again for the Belmont, and with that being the case, this is a colt that could be a real terror for the rest of this field. Union Rags never really had a shot at the Derby, knowing that he got caught up in the massive field at Churchill Downs, but he still was able to get back up to seventh even though he was running towards the back of the pack for the mass majority of the race. This is relatively normal rest for Union Rags, and he has had some darn good workouts of late that make him a very notable Belmont Stakes pick to make.

Normally speaking, when it comes time to bet on the Belmont Stakes, we love to look at how horses ran at the Peter Pan. That being said, this year’s winner of the race, Mark Valeski isn’t going to be running, and the runner up, Right to Vote isn’t going to be in this race either. In fact, there is only one horse that ran in the Peter Pan that is staying here at Belmont for the third leg of the Triple Crown. Normally speaking, we wouldn’t think all that much of Street Life (Belmont Stakes Betting Lines: 8 to 1 at Bovada Sportsbook), but the rest of this field is awfully weak and has never run against fanastic competition. Granted, the one time that we saw Street Life against the best of the best at the Wood Memorial in April, he finished sixth, 7 1/4 lengths short of Gemologist and Alpha, another horse that was once going to be in the Belmont Stakes field. Still, Street Life was amongst the favorites at the Wood, and he was the third choice on the board at the Peter Pan. This is a horse that can definitely run, and we still like the fact that there is an extra week of preparation for this race for Street Life that isn’t there for I’ll Have Another.

If there is one more horse that we are going to want to be looking at in this race, it is My Adonis (Belmont Stakes Odds: 20 to 1 at Bovada Sportsbook). My Adonis was the last horse entered into this field of what once was a dozen and is now 11, and he might be the one horse that has the sneaky chance of getting the job done. We know that My Adonis was only put into this field to set the speed of the race, and he was going to be the horse that was supposed to run I’ll Have Another out of his race. Instead though, there is one fewer horse that is going to be on his inside, and it is going to allow him to get to the front of the field. We don’t think that My Adonis really has the quality to get the job done, but in the end, we do think that he can hit the board.
