With just a few weeks left in the NFL season & more games having playoff implications, now is an ideal time to update you with the latest 2019 Super Bowl odds. As we enter week 13, our 2018 preseason value plays (Saints & Chargers) are currently proving to be good value plays. Prior to week 13’s Thursday Night kickoff, the Chargers best price currently sits at 18-1 @ 5 Dimes. However, the Saints are where we got the most value with our early season play. New Orleans current odds sit at 3-1 @ Bovada and are now the current favorite to win it all at most sportsbooks right now. Considering we got amazing value with our 18-1 early season price on the Saints; and some value in the Chargers at 20-1, we’re going add two value plays into the mix for the this week (week 13).
2018 Value Superbowl Pick (Week 13):

New England Patriots (Best Odds: 7 to 1 @ 5 Dimes) The Pats have been taking care of business in a more quiet than usual fashion (if that’s possible). New England is currently being overshadowed in their hype coverage as of late. Everyone loves that shiny new toy. Those new toys in 2018 come in the form of the Los Angeles Rams and the Kansas City Chiefs. The Rams and Cheifs are two of the media’s favorite NFL teams to talk about. Meanwhile, the Tom Brady’s Patriots are firing on all cylinders. They are also in the driver’s seat for a first round bye in the AFC playoff picture. If Chiefs fans were to pick one team they could have bounced from the playoffs before AFC Championship, tell me they wouldn’t choose the Patriots. I’ll take 7 to 1 odds on Brady with a likely first round bye. Home field advantage is still in range with some late help.
Dallas Cowboys (Best Odds: 51 to 1 @ 5 Dimes) Look….I realize the NFC Least is not sexy this year & that it’s very easy to ignore. But, someone has to win this division. It’s most likely going to be Dallas. The Cowboys have been playing elite level defense as of late, and really seem to be finding an identity at the right time. They’re currently tied at the top of the division with the Redskins. However, Washington is now being led by a backup quarterback. Meanwhile, the Eagles sit a game behind them, but lets face it…. the Eagles just haven’t looked like a playoff team all year. After week 12, FiveThirtyEight was giving the Cowboys a 62% chance at making the playoffs. So, for a 50 to 1 long shot, you get: (1) a team that is most likely going to make the playoffs; (2) a team that is also proving to be one of the best defenses in the NFL. 50 to 1 is more-than-worthy of a small bet.

Los Angeles Chargers (Best Odds: 20 to 1 @ 5 Dimes)
Due to a slow start last season, it appeared the city of angels was unwilling to embrace the newly re-located Chargers. They were also over-shadowed by the Rams playoff season last year. However, the Bolts ended up settling in to their new home & finished their 2017 campaign on a high note. The 9-7 Bolts won 6 of their last 7 games, falling just short of a playoff berth. L.A. finished 1 game behind the AFC West winning Chiefs. The Chiefs, by the way, will be starting a rookie quarterback in 2018. Chargers defense really came a long way last season, allowing just 17 points /game (3rd best in the NFL); and they never gave up more than 13 points in 5 of their last 6 games. L.A.’s offense should have no problem moving the ball with Philip Rivers at the helm. Rivers has grown comfortable in the offense, gelling with their playmakers in Melvin Gordon & Keenan Allen. If you can find the Chargers at 20 to 1 or better anytime this pre-season, it’s worth a play.
New Orleans Saints (Best Odds: 18 to 1 @ My Bookie)
The Saints looked like the team to beat in the NFC heading into the playoffs last season. They outmatched the division rival Panthers in the wildcard round, beating them for the third time in 2017. If not for one magical fluke Hail Mary play that night in Minnesota, it would have been the Saints playing against the Eagles in the NFC Championship. They also would have likely been road favorites (at worst, a pick em’) in Philadelphia. There is no reason to believe the Saints can’t get back there. They had Rookie of the Year winners on both sides of the ball (Alvin Kamara & Marson Lattimore). The Duel-threat back in Kamara elevated the Saints back field and really took the pressure off a nearly-40-year-old Drew Brees, who can still make all the throws. Sean Peyton (& GM Micky Loomis) mortgaged future draft picks in order to draft Marcus Davenport & help out their fairly solid defensive line. At 18 to 1, the Saints may be the best value on the board.
