The Broncos came away with Mike Mayock's top-rated running back and his top-rated defensive player, plus Alphonso Smith, who many -- including Deion Sanders -- believe was the best corner in the draft, and who many teams had on their board as a first round pick.

Add to that a ball hawk safety in MacBeth, who will learn under Dawkins, a special teams dynamo in Bruton, and the best blocking tight end in the draft to bookend McDaniels' 3 wide set (and make holes for Moreno), and I can't see how anyone can call this a D draft.

McDaniels also took a 6'5" QB with a brain from Fresno St; after doing wonders with Cassel, we'll see what he can do there.

People forget special teams. Ours has been awful. We upgraded it AND our defense, which is helped by the ball control someone like Moreno will bring.

This was a great draft for the Broncos. I expect 7 players from the draft to see the field this year, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple of the UFA signed and in the DL / DE rotation, either.
